Nothing against Levy...but what other Directors poke their big noses in?

but as said on yesterdays football pundits if your cooking the meal you want to have a say in the recipe .and Poch is a top chef..in fact many a football commentator have said the same thing about Spurs and how they have gone about their transfers..

Why are many a football commentator a football commentator? And not a manager, coach, scout, director....?

Football punditry is basically the lowest of the low in football work. Its where careers go to die, once they have failed at anything meaningful.

And is why, basically 95% of the time, what comes out of football pundits mouths is utterly meaningless drivel.

Which is why, personally, I couldnt care less what pundits have been saying. Its all just part of the media clickbait cycle, its not actual insight.

OK some truth in what you say ..I do remember Danny Murphy, Alan Sheerer and Lineker being surprised by our lack of signings though.
Bill Nicholson arguably our best manager bought all his players!

Simpler times...

Well before my time as well, to be honest, though I can see why people hancker for those days.

There is an expectation all clubs by players every window.

And, lets be honest, you can look at any team on the planet and identify areas to improve.

Its pretty basic stuff, isnt it? I dont see any real insight in any pundit saying "oh! Im surprised Spurs havent done more business yet!"

And people seem to have forgotten that Levy is also an owner of the club too. It’s his money he is playing with

yeah ..no real insight.perhaps some insight …as we were the only club not to sign anyone out of all of the Leagues last Season. but to be fair we
may have just been a player short of winning the Prem last Season ..admitted it can be easy with hindsight. I would have gone all out to get a top class player last Season
from somewhere. yes I know Bale or Modric may have done it even though a hard possibility or I would have tried maybe for some one else because we had some great players and the Team just needed that impetus to really improve. I thought we threw away some silly games last season and surprisingly won some. We could and should have done far better.IMO.

But we wouldn’t have got 100 points to win the league and 3rd or 4th bares very little difference nowadays
And we made the CL final which is the biggest cup comp in world football so we did alright. If we had a ref who knew the rules that could have been a different result

yeah I agree we do get some dodgy ref's. Also giving away silly goals at the start of a game even.

How do you know how we would have done if we had signed a top player who may have sparked inspiration into the Team?
We were fortunate in the CL but I believed we deserved to be there..again maybe the right player coming in last Season would have made all the difference to CL final as well!
who knows!!?? but its all hindsight and yes we had the Stadium to pay for, but I do remember at the time it would have been a gamble worth taking to bring in a real quality player...
and don't forget. What's our motto supposed to be! To dare is to do.

Because one player wouldn’t have covered every position where we suffered injuries

The only player I don’t remember getting injured was Toby

That was unreal and no one else suffered like that

No, one player would not have covered every injury position and we were unlucky with injuries but... with hindsight it may have made the difference over all to the Team.
Anyway...Come on you Spurs for this Season...

EXACTLY. How many last -ditch goal saving heroics did Greaves achieve? How many players did he put in hospital with bone crunching tackles? And all those games where he did nothing except score 2 or 3 goals.
