Yet another pathetic performance at the Emirates. I said that too many seemed to confident before the game, and the players looked to have the same attitude.
Back 4 was atrocious, and you could see after 5 minutes that the diamond didn't work.

We deservedly got properly spanked because of lack of effort and attitude, and that is what tinkles me off the most!

Yeah yeah it is.
Actually, you know what? fudge it. I can see where this is all going.
I’m out of here before some clam starts writing “Poch out”...

And before anyone fudging carps on, of course it hurts, but my knees will stay in place.

People are allowed to be critical of one match without wanting the manager out (which would be absurd).

He’s a kid surrounded by seasoned professionals, they shouldn’t be letting him get into these situations in the first place, if he’s had a bad game that’s the fault of Verts and Hugo.

This. He was left alone to deal with Aubameyang at times, because Aurier went walkabout and Verts just clammed up after his error. Hugo seemingly did nothing to reassure him. And Aurier screaming at him in the first half because of a mistake on *Aurier's* part just repulsed me.

Alderweireld's a better leader of men than Verts is. And Alderweireld would likely have guided Foyth better than Verts ended up doing today.

Foyth's blameless in this, and he will continue to be blameless all through this season. He's a young, nervous kid, being put straight into our most important games.

The team needs to protect him and support him. And the team let him down today.

@milo - has to be Son really for winning the dodgy pen and for being the only one to look dangerous when we were overrun at the beginning. We should write off the second half and never speak of it again.

I still think we'll finish top 4. We'll smash Southampton in the week, goons will drop points at Utd and we'll go above them again. But we're not doing anything more than that. We are the new "Wenger's Arsenal."

Only positive I can see is we were never in this game but managed to take a lead from out of nowhere. Then followed a spell where it seemed up for grabs for both sides. At half time, or in the 15 mins following that, we should be looking to make subs. I feel Poch has let the side down by letting the players get tired, particularly given Aurrier's first half display.

I also feel that it was a huge mistake not to start Toby. He is still our best defender by miles and no matter how many games he's played so far this season, he's THE leader at the back and in a game where you know for certain the opposition are going to throw it all at you in the first half we missed out big time on his presence.

Still, not all doom and gloom. We will beat them at our place, be it Wembley or the New Lane. I still feel confident of finishing above them as well.

Also missed an absolute sitter to make it 3-2.

As said pre-game we needed to take the chances to win.

We didnt.

it goes 3-2 and its a completely different game.

I must say I was surprised to see Foyth start in place of Toby, especially since the latter was fit enough for the bench. He may be slower than Foyth but he has years of experience and a great partnership with Jan. I agree that Poch was extremely slow with his subs and it certainly contributed to the brick show we just witnessed. However, the starting 11 didn’t turn up from the beginning of the game and they all disappeared off at HT, too. Losing away to a close rival shouldn’t be a shock; playing so poorly should be, though. We habitually bottle playing them at their place and this game can now take its place in a long and unvaried history of being comfortably seen off away at Arsenal. I still believe we have a far better side than them (and their ridiculous luck cannot hold out all season) but such a meek defeat will always be painful. A truly appalling end to an otherwise excellent week.

I don't think they have worked out how to play the smaller teams over the course of a season yet. That should give us an advantage to Top 4.
