Our second halves are typically superior, I'm holding out hope we come out blazing and they tire after their kamikaze start.

Had a feeling it was an intensity they couldn't maintain, but we'll see.

fudge me we started badly! Like some weird mix of deer in headlights and at the same time it looked like the players were overconfident and thought we can outplay them at 50% effort! Bizarre!
And I though we ended just as badly! How can you allow them to counter 3vs2 in the last minute, when moments before we had the ball at their corner flag!! fudging outrageous!

Long way to go but after the first 20 we looked out of it.

Dier should get an assist for the second as his celebration and the aftermath clearly rattled them.

Defence and midfield will need to be better but you have to fancy we will get more chances on the counter.

Regrets:

-Poor start
-Very open defence
-After getting a foothold in the game, started to let the back in again near the end
-Love Foyth but potentially starting him over Toby

BUT most importantly:

-That Kane didn't also shush their fans/bench after his goal.

Not quite sure how we're up here but I'll take it. Need to get a better hold of midfield and the right side of our defence especially needs to shape up. But we have options to shore up defensively and improve the attacking play too.

Not sure if they'll tire after that blitz or whether this will follow their usual routine so far this season and come back stronger this half.

Great mentality so far from our players though.

Our mental strength is miles above this lot.

What's great about Arsenal is they've lost that world class ..ball selection..composure... decision making they had yesteryear in the final third.
They could easily had 3 or 4 if they still had that.

Right, but eventually, given the gaping holes across our back line, they will take one of those chances they're making.

We need to tighten up at the back. I'd even advocate going three at the back to match them - get Alderweireld on and reset.

Trouble is, whom do you take off to accommodate that? Sissoko is sorely needed to save Aurier down the right (where we're being skinned), and the front four have all interchanged well with each other and can't be switched out. The only option is Dier, but going without a DM in midfield wouldn't be wise against this kind of high-pressing Arsenal side.

Poch is paid to solve these things, and no doubt he's already thought them through. But I'm stumped.

Also, this game is crying out for some equivalent b*stardry on our end - those Arsenal subs getting shirty will be coming on to liven up the game, and we need to match them. Dier's on a yellow and might get sent off (Ditto Verts, tbh), so we need someone else to step up when that happens.

Crying shame Lamela isn't on the bench - he would have been *perfect* in terms of slyly leaving a stud in on those particular f*ckers.

It's very, very finely poised. As it stands, I think we're going to concede at least one, if not *two* more - we just need to score more than them, which thankfully looks possible.

Come on, you f*cking Spurs.

Thing is. They are good 2nd half too. 18 match unbeaten bearing in mind they have never led at HT, means they tend to be better after the break. Hopefully we can match them

Back home now. I was out with family for lunch. Heard the two Spurs goals when I was driving home. How was the first half overall?
