OMT - Tottenham Hotspur Dons v Watford Town

Best set of pens I have seen us take for about 20 years. Shame we werent as lethal in the LC FInal v United that time.

Well done Gazza2 and pleased for Dele on his homecoming.

Its' never easy watching Spurs is it???

I can’t recall the last time we won a shoot out?

Would actually like us to win this cup (it’s still a trophy!) so very pleased we won.

Good anticipation from Gazzaniga, esp. the second save.

Also well done Lamela: injured, worked hard to get fit then found himself out of the team — instead of sulking he bulks up, gets fitter & more determined than ever. He really wants it.

If only our other fringe players did the same.

Capoue did his best, tried to miss the chance but Davies steered it in, so missed the pen. Gomes kindly diving over Alli's pen and then helping the last one in - Yiddo's!

When the relief wears off we need to look into why we are failing to close games out - the last 5 Minutes are starting to feel like the Jol years.

Good to be through. Was a struggle but we just about deserved it. A lot of players still working themselves back to fitness and peak condition. Winks, Wanyama, Sissoko.

Special shout out to Aurier, he's doing well with what he is given this season. Lamela is also proving to be a difference maker, although I do feel we shouldn't have lost the ball in the build up to their second. We needed to be smarter and it was largely down to him if memory serves correctly.

But I have to say, Davinson has regressed this year. Not sure what is going on with him but he needs to step it up. Looks a lot more ponderous. Loses his battles. Pretty concerning to see. Davies is always not hitting his heights of the last two seasons, and I expect more from him, but Sanchez has really fallen.

Not a great performance, decent again. Not a fan of the diamond/4-3-3ish system at all.

Brilliant from Lamela for both goals. The pass to Alli was a beauty, then involved in the buildup before a lovely finish for the second. Scrappy and a bit sloppy from him otherwise, but always working hard.

Winks getting 90 minutes and looking good is a real bright spot to take away from this for me. Moura, Son, Alli, Dembele and Aurier also looking quite good. Start for Wanyama and looking quite good likewise. Gazzaniga getting the penalty saves and otherwise a decent enough game.

Davies looking to cement a backup role to Rose based on that performance. Sissoko, can't believe he's still around. Llorente... won headers at the back and scored a penalty, it's not nothing.

Entertainingly second half, us looking good in the last half an hour. Getting the win. Game time for some players. Can't complain.

... minus the joy.

Positives:
We have won again
Gazzaniga looked solid and did everything he could
Aurier was playing well before the injury
Match time for players like winks and Wanyama
Lanela... I thought he looked a bit poor but he kept on plugging a yet again scored

Negatives
Ben Davies looks woefully bad currently
Whose idea was it to swap the cherry backs round at half time... Sanchez looked awful at that point
4-3-3... doesn’t suit us with the players we have again
