Moussa Sissoko

Where does the £95k pw come from?
I don’t for one moment believe he’s on that, certainly not as a basic. Maybe, if there’s any substance to it, it’s a figure that includes bonuses etc.
I had read he was on £60k pw, Although I cant remember the source.

Of course I cannot say 100% he is on that wage. I got the figures from the website I quoted in the Toby Thread. SillySeason.com that lists most
major clubs player wages. Are they fact? im not sure. But they seemed right when I compared some of the contracts we have for our players.

Despite him.

I wonder if Poch was trying to use the old "players always have the game of their lives against their old team" theory. Sissoko didn't even meet the Sunday League standard he set for himself.
I just didn’t understand your graph so assumed that’s what it meant.

Time to accept that Poch actually likes him, despite claims on here for about four windows now he’ll be sold he never is and should have played Amos today but still would rather him for some reason...

Almost as if our players didn't want to give the ball to the players on that side of the pitch.

Or that we wanted to focus our play down the left more than the right? Maybe the idea was that with Yedlin most likely to bomb on we’d have the most luck focusing on his side, and releasing Dele and Eriksen into space over there?

Players like Sissoko who are more (or better) as defensive players rather than attacking players are often used to shut down a flank, or an area of the pitch.

Anyway, another game where he was perfectly serviceable (not saying he was great, a stand out or amazing in any way, just a good contributor to the team as anyone else was) and another game where he’s called a Sunday League player, with absolutely anything used to discredit his performance. Team player, well liked by squad and staff, never complains, never makes a mistake leading to a goal, runs hard, and we don’t really have a drop off in results when he plays. 3rd season with us now - he deserves as much fair support as the rest of the squad. Appreciate him for what he is, rather than criticising him for what he will never be.

I thought he was poor. Certainly not the worst, but its more just a "*sigh* there he goes again" at this point.

He wasnt working exclusively as a defensive player, Id have been happier if he were as thats the role he is the least liable in.

He was general midfield, getting up and down, and being of minimal use the whole time.

And Im not to sure many teams deliberately DONT use one side of the field to attack.

I think its got to the point where we have accepted how bad he is and a poor performance is actually OK for him

Slow, woeful positioning, inaccurate passing, trips over the ball and turns like a tanker.

In the first half a Saudi Sportswashing Machine player had a shot that didnt lead to anything - he put zero effort in to close him down and shut down the shot - after he allowed him to get goal side 20 yards from goal.

five minutes later he then tried to pass an attacker on and didnt check it had been done and just wondered off leaving the player free.

better teams would punish that

Fair enough mate, I don’t think he was great just find it an odd thing to pick out. I thought him and Aurier linked up well at times last season, but today they were sloppy...

I actually think as a pair they have no chemistry or understanding at all.

IMO there is a player in Aurier somewhere, but he needs someone smarter/better to play off of.

He did play with Moura at PSG, I had hoped they would gel but Moura was much further up the field than I expected (and pretty quiet too).

Its not that Im picking Sissoko out exactly, this is the Sissoko thread - so Im commenting on him here. All but a few were poor. Its just like I said, with Sissoko - he delivers what you expect, the others we at least know can offer more.
