***OMT: Mighty Spurs vs Woolwich***

Nice to get this erection inducing win against our local and top 4 rivals Arsenal. But we really made hard work of it ! We played well and should have won more comfortably. Instead we wasted too many chances and almost got punished by Arsenal late on. We need to learn to be more clinical and ruthless in front of goal. We could have easily overtaken our biggest home win over Arsenal which is the 5-0 win in 1983. In fact, we could have easily won by 10-0 if the likes of Kane(3), Lamela(2), Son, Alli, Trippier, Eriksen, Dembele and Dier scored from their chances.

Well done to Kane for scoring his 7th goal against Arsenal to inspire us to this win. But Kane had 3 other chances which he should have scored from. Others like Alli, Son, Eriksen and Lamela too had chances they should have done better with, most of it one-on-one chances. Son was not at his best as he wasted a good chance to score in the second half. Eriksen too should have scored from the freekick he had in the second half. It is really frustrating why Eriksen just cannot seem to score from these freekicks. Lamela did well after coming on, immediately setting up the chance for Alli which Alli wasted despite having all the time in the world to beat the goalie. Lamela too had 2 one-on-one chances which he could have scored from as well.

Our midfield of Dembele and Dier did well to win the midfield battle for us. It was great seeing Dembele having a good game, even if he could have done better with his goal scoring chance in the first half. Was worried about Dier as he tends to make too many mistakes but he played well and could have scored a goal or two from headers as well. Even Wanyama came on and helped us midfield well.

Credit to our defence for keeping this clean sheet against Arsenal. Was surprised that Alderweireld didn't start but Vertonghen and Sanches did their best to stop Arsenal. We did ride our luck a few times, especially when Arsenal had the chance in the last minute which they wasted. That shows Vertonghen and Sanchez needs to be more alert at all times. Great to see Lloris being at his best, pulling off a few good saves. Credit to Davies to assisting the goal for Kane with a inch perfect cross. Cannot blame Trippier for not scoring from his chance as he rarely scores.

Good to see us maintaining our winning form against the big teams like ManU, Liverpool and Arsenal at Wembley. Maybe we will miss Wembley when we move to our new stadium. Remember, we are unbeaten at Wembley since losing to Chelsea in our first league match of the season. ManCity are the only remaining top 6 team we have to face at Wembley this season. Also, good to see us keeping our good home form against Arsenal as we have won 6, drawn 3 and lost only 1 of our last 10 league matches against Arsenal at home. Mind you, that only defeat came under the clueless Sherwood ! Let's hope this win will boost our confidence to go on a winning run in the remaining matches of the season.

And to put a positive spin on it....

Don’t lose to city and of course the reaminding home games and it will be one loss in 2 seasons at home even thoug( half of that was away

A few things mate, and I know people give you a bit of stick on the negative tone sometimes ...

- There are no easy games against the top 6 (at least not supposed to be), or against big CL teams. The fact that for significant periods in big games this season, it has looked easy, it has looked like we should have scored 6 or 7, is an incredible statement by this squad that people are missing.
- We got a 1-0, 2-0, there will be a game or two where it all goes in, including the deflecting off someone' ass or whatever .. nature of it. The numbers that Kane, Son, Dele, Eriksen put up at the end of the season show that we are as wasteful as people would like to believe.
- I don't think we will miss Wembley, what I think is we have shown that we are a very good side, and a very good side can win anywhere given enough time to acclimatize, the good part is learning to leverage a bigger pitch as that will hopefully translate to the NWHL.

Spurs have been comfortably been the 2nd best team in the PL for the 3rd season in a row (from an overall points, goals, wins, etc.), and if it wasn't for City's crazy season this year, we would be first. Not bad for a club that isn't an established top 4, that had a stadium of 36K w/wage limits that is competing against unlimited budgets and supposedly 3 to 4 of the great managers of European football.

Instead of tinkling on our parade and trying to sell off our players and manager, media and pundits should be highlighting the facts and calling out Jose, Pep & Conte when they complain about squad size and how "little" money they have to spend.

Been reading the match thread on Arse Mania today. Comedy gold.

They are as blind and deluded as Liverpool. Both clubs consider Wembley their second home as well. LOL

Pre match they're all excited and talking about what a bunch of scummy cheats we are.

No chance Kane gets banned, the guy could tape machetes to his boots and get away with it.

The thing I'm specifically looking forward to is counter attacking. The speed and skill we can counter with now will be truly terrifying. I'm ****ing intimidated by it, can't even imagine what the spuds are feeling.

This could be another all time classic NLD. Hoping for 5-1, which just improves on the usual 5-2, while still denying Peter Chech his clean sheet. Would also love for Wheelchair to come on at 4-1 and win a peno with an unconvincing dive.

Spurs are very narrow so there is space to exploit and pea can leave their defenders for dead.

With Alli, Son, Kane and Lamela doing a national diving competition in our box, it'll be nearly impossible to win. They'll get at least two pens. Draw is a maximum result here, loss is far more likely.

Auba is going to love this. You can tell he's not the type to choke on a big occasion, rather he's the type of personality that lives for them.

Having watched the Spurs - Liverpool match yesterday, I'm fully expecting a draw at best, involving officials' dodgy decisions and at least one dive and penalty in their favour.

Very excited for this game, the way we spanked Everton and them just getting the draw against Liverpool makes me feel very confident for it.

I don't rate Ospina, but Dele Alli and Kane are diving bastards, so we're guaranteed to give away a penalty and at least there is a chance of it being saved. Plus Cech's been awful this season and most of last season anyway.

Seeing how many penalties we have given away this season, how many that have been wrongly given against us, and how dirty spurs are, we really need to be focused.

Its incredible how they get away with this every game, especially Alli. Imagine if that was Xhaka or Suarez, it would be a 5 game ban by now. The FA sure loves their English golden boys.

Lineups are announced.

Excited to see our attack. Looks like 433 which you’ve got to admit suits pretty much every midfielder we have.

I like that lineup. Seems much more defensively solid and at the same time a trio of Özil, Mkhi and Wheelchair should be a joy to watch, especially if they can supply Auba.

Quite worried by the team. Özil and Mkhitaryan will have to be really on point to do the majority of our ball carrying because there isn't a whole lot else there for us.

On the flip side, encouraged by their team and the fact that we are the better side in general. Midfield isn't bad from a defensive point of view as we needed Elneny to hustle and harry them. Hope Jack has his head screwed on today.

Good midfield, we need Elneny in there for a game like this. Hope he’s up for it, I think so.I see harry better then Wheelchair winks not even in the squad. Well that hype ended well.

Would rather have Iwobi play this actually. He helps us keep the ball well, but perhaps counter attack is the way to go today.

Ultra instinct Goku shinpads. Loving that!

GOKU!! Gosh, this guy is us, I love him already.

Most of the game is then spent moaning about how brick every one of their players are.

"Mkhitariyan can get a lot of joy up against Trippier"

Game starts.

"Miki is completely useless"

"Get Iwobi on"

Iwobi comes on.

"Iwobi is toss"

"Welbeck is coming on to save us"

Two seconds later: "Welbeck is so brick"

Of course all the offsides given against them were blatant mistakes while we were getting everything from the ref.

The fact they loved those PATHETIC shin pads is sad.

Really, he’s done over a hundred of those strips and less than three have been mildly amusing. If he was better than that he’d draw something funny.

I usually laugh quite a lot every week at Squires, but this week I just didn't get it. Maybe I missed some news or something but it just seemed so bizarre. Most of the time he hits for me though. Duncan Castles getting jizzed on by Mourinho was very good.

The overriding message I get from the ones posted here (the only ones I see) is that he doesn’t like football.

He did say you had to have seen the Nike advert to get it, but not sure how much that actually helps.
