***OMT: Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool***

Didn’t we brain fart twice last year with Mane? Gifted them the goals if I recall. If we keep him quiet and don’t brain fart we have a chance. It’s just a ground we don’t like going to isn’t it? We always seem to look scared when we go there. The only time I’ve seen us win there I was actually there. Maybe I should go tomorrow.

Yep, think it was a Dier calamity for the second goal.

We will not be that complacent this time around.

We could, let’s hope not.

Also it’s easy for us to say, their aggression unsettles a lot of good players and they force that kind of mistake. It’s not a one off thing. It’s why I’m saying we need to be careful of pushing too high and not dwelling on the ball. We can help ourselves by not holding on to it too much

I must have been watching a different Henderson this season then.

Davies is far from average, Robertson couldn’t even get in ahead of Moreno most of the season! Ridiculous!
I don't think many on this board agrees with the selection, but some see the reasoning behind it.

Gaaaaaaahhhh it is so frustrating reading the comments of people who have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. That first guy writes 20 lines of garbage and then lands on ‘my guess is, Spurs have peaked’ ignoring that we are always better under Poch in the seasons second half.

And player exodus...yawn.

Tomorrow is going to be tough, obviously. I think the thing we have to lean on is our tactical versatility vs what they can do. Klopp doesn’t seem like he has deviated from his preferred 4-3-3 all that much - where as we can do a bunch of different things as we have a year advantage on getting the Poch system drilled in vs the Klopp one.

So let’s go for some flexibility. Let’s surprise them with a 3 at the back or a counter strategy, or let’s mix it up repeatedly during the game so they don’t know what’s coming. Otherwise, they’ll probably snatch it.

Be nice if we went into one of these away games against a big side and gift them a stupid goal early on.

We shoot ourselves in the foot.

Moura really should be on the bench at least.

I just had a look at the rawk forum..haha talk about cringe! For every 10 bell sniffs on, there’s possibly 1 or 2 posters, who seem decent enough.
They even call US delusional, you couldn’t make it up. They are a top 6 club at best, with a fan base made up from hangers on from the 70’s/80’s golden era and taxi drivers.

We did give away bad goal last year but they absolutely hammered us. Could have been 5 or 6 - similar to the United game the other night.

I’d take anything up there. We’ve won there three times in my lifetime and rarely seem to do well which really tinkles me off because if there is one team I can’t stand it’s that bunch of job dodging, dole scamming, pick pocketing, bin dipping clams.

I sort of got from Poch's comments that he wouldn't be involved today

Likewise.
He signed on Wednesday, was back in Paris on Thursday. So time with the rest of the squad will have been minimal. Poch also highlighted in his press conference that he has barely played all season and will have to prove himself in training, as per anyone hoping to play.

Or... it's all mind games and he'll come on and score the winner.

Even if he hasn't played much I'd still have him on the bench to bring on for 10-15 mins at the end when others are tiring

fudge it, I’m always pessimistic about our chances. Poch to hatch a masterplan to counter Liverpool’s predictability. 3-0 us. Kane with 2 and Alli with 1.

This is supposed to be a must-win match for us as Liverpool are our direct rivals for top 4. But we have such a poor record against the top 6 teams away and we rarely turn up against Liverpool away. We are winless in our last 6 league matches at Liverpool, drawing 2 and losing 6. It will lift us greatly if we can win there but won't expect too much. We want a win but a draw will be a great result looking at our poor record there.

Kane will be our key player again. We always win when Kane scores. So we badly need Kane to score if we want to get something out of this match. Others like Eriksen, Son and Alli need to step up their game against Liverpool as well. Frankly, I think Lamela will be more useful if he starts in this match. Lamela's work rate and creativity will be of great help to us if he starts against Liverpool.

This match will be won or lost in midfield. Wanyama and Dembele will be our ideal partnership in midfield but they need to be at their best. We need to control the midfield to have any chance of getting at least a draw in this match. Somehow I fee Sissoko will be useful in midfield. Sissoko will help us stop Liverpool attacks with his work rate.

Our defence need to be at their best to stop the Liverpool attacks. Wish Alderweireld is fully fit to start in this match. Otherwise, Lloris, Vertonghen and Sanchez will need to play their best and avoid any silly mistakes in defence. We need to avoid giving away any freekicks and stop any long range shots which Liverpool are really good at.

It is going to be a tense match. Liverpool have a good record against the top 6 teams and they will be fired up to get revenge for the 4-1 defeat at Wembley earlier in the season. Let's hope we will turn up with the right team and mentality to get at least a draw in this match to stay in the top 4 race.
