We weren't gazumped for Hazard or Barkley. Hazard chose them because they qualified for the Champions League at our expense. We know that we were interested in Barkley in the summer but there's nothing concrete on us still being interested this month.

Straw man argument. Who said anything about being gazumped? Did not all three end up at Chelsea following interest in them by us?

I never thought Hazard would sign for us. Chelski simply offered more wages and had won more trophies. Soon as they sniffed we were out of the picture.

Willian and Petit though. They are scummers who used us and took the tinkle. Not sure about Barkley, I dont understand why he turned them down in the summer really then? but they offer more wages and won the league last year.

I think in a direct battle I expect us to lose out to City, United and Chelski unless the player is not a money grabbing fluffy bunnies cuddling and wants to get in the team if he is not a superstar. But I expect us to be able to now compete with Le Scum, and Liverpoop. Once we can challenge wage wise I dont see why we cannot be a better draw than either of them two.

Willian was the only one where they directly nicked a transfer off of us. Signing a player that we showed an interest in in a previous window is a bit difference. If you were suggesting that PSG might sell Moura to Chelsea in the summer of 2019 then fair enough.

I think the general theory was that he agreed to stay at Everton and pick up wages from them while recovering so Chelsea could pick him up in Jan much cheaper. And no doubt he got a nice signing on sweetner in the process.

I concur.

Still relatively young yet old enough and sufficiently experienced to know his way around. We can hope his dissatisfaction at PSG means he's hungry for success. It would have been easy to take the money and loaf it.

Looks like this is a done deal (I hope I am not cursing it now ). The fact that he already knows a squad member pretty well will help him settle quicker. In this market that transfer fee is very good value and even if he is a 'miss' we could easily recoup the fee I would think.
