Dele Alli

Raiola of course

When he wants Dele to move on he will get his way.

The very fact Dele is considering someone like Raiola shows where Dele's mind is at.

Yea, when Dele (or any player come to that) is serious about leaving then in reality there’s not much a club can do, apart from extracting the most possible from the sale. And encouraging clients to move is good for agents generally, not just Raiola, although he has the high profile.
My comment was tongue in cheek based on comments in that article about Raiola ‘needlessly’ drawing out negotiations and being a ‘pain in the backside’ to deal with. In that context, if dealing with Levy, he’d be up against a fellow master of the art.
Of course in practice, if Dele is moving, then it would be Levy v the acquiring club, unless Raiola is acting for them as well. If it’s a wage renegotiation for Dele at Spurs, then it’s Levy v Raiola.

Of course, there’s nothing of substance in that Independent article.

Raiola will get his way, but it will be on Levy's terms as long as Dele's still under contract with us.

Let's hope he doesn't join up with this cretin, though.

I thought this was all sorted a few weeks back?

He signed up with the same agency that Kane is signed to ( and Mourhino as well I think).but that seems to be for commercial deals. It seems that the agent function might sit outside that? (Eg Mourhino has Mendes as his agent).

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...al-agency-represents-jose-mourinho-cristiano/

Re-reading the above, this agency is stated to have close links with Mendes, so maybe that is the more likely option? And that Raiola is just being disruptive.
Either way it looks like he’s going to end up with one of the big shot agents. Then it’s really just a case of how long can we keep him for. (Or how much we can sell him for).

I agree with your sentiment but it would just come out of the players salary and they would insist on more to compensate - or you would have to "donate" a substantial sum to their charity a la Messi. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/01/spanish-tax-authorities-scruntinise-messis-foundation/
It would take a lot to change the current system and there is no desire to change it anyway as too many people are getting rich off the back of it. And as you say, if they banned agent fees they would just get the money indirectly though the player. The whole thing disgusts me really.

the only reason I don't get too irate about it is the clubs would be earning the money anyhow, even without agents fees its unlikely that they would stop trying to maximize the TV deal or reduce ticket prices. There may be one or two decent owners but for the majority it would just end up in their pockets anyway, its also why I am not too fussed on caps on wages at least the "talent" is getting the excess.

Calling @scaramanga to the defend the free market.

They need to change the transfer system to cut these leeches out of it or limit their fees to a tiny percentage.

Simple ban on payments from clubs to agents. Automatic relegation. Any hidden scheme double relegation.

Players can give as much money to agents as they want like in any other industry.

Players will wonder why they are giving money out of their own pockets to agents.

I don't get the hate for agents ... clubs can refuse to work with agents if they please as can the players.

We would all be agents if we could.

The arguments against are valid but do not stack up if both the clubs and the players wish to engage in them.

I have no issue with an agent representing a client. Fine. Businessman to businessman. But one agent. No hidden fees. All fees paid should be stated upfront and as modricspur said, anyone caught brown-bagging pays a heavy price, club, player, agent, all of them.No third-party ownership of players either...
