We can play football when we want. Mou has to trust them more.

Anyway still in with a shout.

Its absolutely no surprise we improved when Alli went off. He's just not very good anymore. There was no other way to get Ndombele onto the pitch other than hook Alli.

I wouldn’t mind that, Eriksen was fantastic for us.

You say that, but I wonder just how much more we could have expected given the short notice and preparation time after the announcement of Son's injury.

To be fair, it's not the worst result under those circumstances. And it looks like we'll have some valuable experience - to say nothing of a high-level workout - to take forward to a crucial match on the weekend.

Maybe switch the order Le Celco, Sanchez, Hugo but otherwise agree. Le Celco was on it, and it was frustrating we didn't take the game to them earlier. They were intimidated, and couldn't live with us. We showed them too much respect first half. Toe to toe I think we would come out as the more skillful team. Yet we are lucky its only 1 goal against.

    So brave. So defiant.

    Ref wasn't why we lost.

    @milo

Obviously my boy had a great cameo, but Lo Celso was at it all night so just shades it for me

No I’m judging him on his spell at United and what I’m seeing here . No different. What was all the crap about a different Jose ?? Tactics are the same. Regardless of players missing.

We are pitiful. Don’t even look solid at the back when we sit in.

Sorry that it does not agree with how you see it but the day he goes I’ll be a happy man.

    Missing Kane/Son

Lamela/Dombele/Lo Celso all coming back from injuries

    SB/gedson still fitting in

    Brain dead Moura and Serge

Apart from replacing Serge with Tang really hasn’t got much options there.

Lo Celso excellent. Sanchez very good.

Lamela standard headless chicken mode. Did well.

    Everyone else pretty damn poor.

Not sure wtf Davies was doing for the penalty. Be interesting to see if Rose’s critics will be objective and about Davies rather than being happy with him for not being Danny Rose

Thought we played ok. Predictably we lack a clinical finisher and we still allow the opposition too many opportunities but what a player we have in Lo Celso. If only Ndombele could play even one half without blowing out his cheeks. Oh well next season it is.

Intimidated? Couldn't live with us? They played us off the park for 70 minutes.

To be honest, they were like Liverpool and City. They came flying out the traps early on, pressed like men possessed and played at a really high tempo. Like those two I just mentioned they also tired by the middle of the second half. Those second balls they were first to were suddenly our's, the little toe pokes from their CB's were less frequent.

We were still reliant on trying to squeeze Bergwijn and Moura down the sides of their CB's, which is depressing. Dele went missing in the second half and was rightly subbed off. He wasn't doing enough after the break to deserve to be on the pitch and both N'Dombele and Lamela were real positives.

the one that annoyed me most was Werner on Aurier about 20 mins in, not only did he flatten him from the blindside, we’d have been away 3 on 2 had Aurier made the pass

Werner would have been off before half time
