Reminded me of the old SuperJan days back in 2012 - the rampaging runs forward that led to that goal against United and the celebration that he sadly hasn't busted out again in the five years since. Hopefully Sanchez mopping up at the back will give him a bit more license to roam forward at will - he's definitely somewhat better at it than Toby.

I think he enjoys the faster paced games as it keeps him on his toes and allows his composure to stand out.

I think he was just as good for the whole of last season. He was the best CH in the league last year IMO.

I am not sure to be honest, playing alongside Toby helps but he was great in his first season here as well. It was some stupid remark ( made by some fans) about his body language in the tunnel against Liverpool that encouraged others to doubt him. He was not happy under Sherwood but i do not believe his game suffered.

But as you say he is a class player and alongside Toby they are the best in the Prem as a partnership.

I think he loves being in the back 3, as it allows him to get forward more knowing there is always cover.

Another good game today. There seems to be a perfect balance in that back 3. Having the security of Davinson with his pace means Jan can keep bombing forward.
He's definitely thriving in this set up.
