The Premier League Standard

COYS

Allan Nielsen
This season I think it's been very poor. United were the clear champions but I personally don't feel they were great. Think of all the times they had to come from behind.

In the Champions League we weren't great either. No English teams in the semis. IMO I think this has also made it much easier to beat the lower teams, explaining why we claimed 72 points without finishing in the top 4.

The standard has dropped all across the table. I haven't seen an Arsenal team looking this average in all my life (yes I'm young), yet they've still finished in a Champions League position.

Some of what I'm saying may seem contradictory (and maybe quite unclear), but think of it like this - it was easy for United to finish as champions, despite the fact this isn't their best team ever. The lower teams have become so bad it's still been tinkle easy to beat them.

I know you're not all going to agree but I welcome your thoughts.
