Some comical defending in this one, but a couple of sublime Hoddle passes leading to two goals also. One thing that always strikes me watching some of the older videos, is when the pitches were fairly decent the game really wasn't that much slower than it is today. One touch passing was certainly more fashionable back then making the game faster in possession.....or maybe that was just the beautiful way we played the game! The defences are really poorly organised compared to modern day defences though, and the attacks are much more cautious in the modern game. Teams keep their shape a lot more going forward than they did back then.
