Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

Having thought about this for a few days (and keep in mind I’m talking RDZ the manager, and not the moral based questions and the Greenwood situation which I’m staying away from at the moment) I think RDZ could be a good manager for us… in the summer.

However the more I think about it, I think this really could be an error based on the context of where we currently are, where we sit and the players and games we have available.

I would be over the moon to be proved wrong, however as talented as he clearly is, I cannot shake the feeling that this is a good choice, but made at completely the wrong time.

Not me sunshine!
I don't need any excuses at all, he's provided several in his career. He's a wan ker, and now he looks set to be our wan ker. Because I support the club I'll have to accept that it is the case.

He may well be a wan ker, a lot of managers are but plenty of players who have played for him have praised him. I still stand by my opinion that to judge him on his comments regarding Greenwood is harsh.

As things stand at this moment in time, I don't see a better alternative

Sky Sports News just showed a graphic that showed he got 8 points from his first 7 PL games with Brighton:

W2
D2
L3

If he could match that there’s a chance he keeps us up.
2 wins - Leeds, Everton
2 draws - Sunderland, Wolves
3 defeats - Brighton, Villa, Chelsea

We actually just need to appoint him again. Watch him fail and then people can get over him. It's ridiculous at this point but it makes sense. I've said before on here that so many of our fans are believers in the "Messiah Coach" and that's what Poch represents. He did so well the first time around that given our circumstances rather than trying to actually address the rot and reinforce the foundations, they want the massive plaster of a coach who can far exceed the ingredients that we will give them. They've seen Poch do it, and so now there's an obsession with getting him back. The sad thing is if we ever do go again with him it will not be the same as the first time around, we don't have the players this time around.

I think relegation might be a good thing for us. It would cause the massive cultural reset that this club and fan base so evidently needs. I don't want to go down, but more and more I think it might be for the best.
I agree with the first bit, mainly because I've never bought into the theory that the crippling lack of transfers was purely down to Scrooge McLevy. Poch has to take some of the blame for failing to replace his ageing stars.

My heart simply cannot countenance relegation being a good thing, however.

Simple question, would you be happy if Mason Greenwood signed for Spurs next season?

Simple question do you think that Bentancur should still be at the club?

If a player is innocent why shouldn't he play for any club?

If a player is found guilty (as in the Bentancur case) why would any club keep a racist at their club?

Less we forget:

"Host Rafa Cotelo asked Bentancur for a Spurs player's shirt, to which he replied, "Sonny's?" [Son Heung-Min], adding: "It could be Sonny's cousin too as they all look the same."

Greenwood:

  • Outcome: Following the investigation, it was decided that Greenwood had not committed the offenses for which he was initially charged in 2022.

The fact that charges were dropped did not mean he did not committ the offence. Did you actually listen to the audio recording of him raping (or should I say indecently assaulting) the now mother of his child?

When the main witness refuses to give evidence it does not mean the act was not committed

To add, the CPS found that there wasn't sufficient evidence. You have just swung from "raping" to "indecently assaulting" in your opinion.

Doesn't that prove how unsure you are, let alone the words of the CPs and Police in this case who have completely investigated these allegations?

A person has to be found guilty by a jury, not some keyboard warrior.

I think most sensible people can make their mind up on who they want at the club based on that audio clip. The fact there are 1000s of players globally that we could look at and not have to rely on someone who tells a woman "I don't care what you want, I wanna fudge you you taco, I don't care if you wanna have sex with me"

I am ok with making that call without the CPS or police, I am not asking him to go to jail I am saying I don't want him at Spurs

Interesting and unexpected quote from Sandro:
[Asked back in 2023, who the best coach he played under]"It was De Zerbi, 100 per cent. I worked with him and fell in love with him in the first week … He's got passion. He's there every day, like a teacher. He practised a lot, the repetition. He's a manager who wants to have the ball all the time. A very intelligent and very particular manager who thinks a lot about the game. He helps players and gives them the details they need to hurt the opponent.
Benevento were in a very bad situation, but De Zerbi picked some players to try to improve the team and I was part of that, I didn't know that I was going to meet one of the best coaches that I've had. It was amazing because I learned a lot from him, and I really enjoyed playing for him. I saw great things. When I arrived there, I was already an experienced player and I'd seen so many coaches. He made me come to games with fire, like 'what's he going to teach us today? What are we going to do?' You must be good to do that. I wanted more. I wanted to play for him."
