I'm guessing normally most would just cancel their ESPN in order to subscribe to the new BT channels? But surely with the amount of streaming nowadays they will struggle to get subscribers? I know many of my mates who had ESPN when it started but got rid a long while ago now and just stream those games or go to the pub when their team is on.. I reckon BT would be lucky to get anywhere near the subscriptions that ESPN has.

Has BT got some bigger plan of becoming a Sky/Virgin alternative?

BT have just signed up a deal with the English rugby clubs, so it looks like they are challenging Sky more generally.

I suppose as the line between provision of phone services and the internet has disappeared the lines between media content provision and the internet will continue to blur, so its a logical step for a phone/internet provider.
 
They already have the BT Vision boxes which are basically freeview boxes so i'm guessing they will have these sports channels as extras that people could add-on hey?

BT-Vision is a lot more than Freeview, there is already a lot of premium on demand and movie content and you can get Sky Sports 1 & 2 and ESPN. So their own sport channel would just replace ESPN I would guess.

Having said that, I personally wouldn't stump up the money for it.
 
Fortunately I'm into all the US sports so I'm more than happy to keep ESPN, doubt I'll bother with BT though.
 
he was a great advert for Sky F1 in my opinion, really didn't have a clue what was going on or any historical knowledge of the sport and his co-hosts (Jordan and Coulthard) made very little effort to cover for him, if anything good old EJ was trademarking the condescending response

good riddance to him and the iPad taped to his forearm
