***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Burnlio, Sat Jan 24th, 3pm***

Ralph Coates
Let's add that 'o' to their name and pretend this is another match in the Champions League!!!

The David Fishwick Stand, complete with it's rusty nuts and creaky seats, will accommodate our glorious traveling supporters as they hope to see that Tuesday was no one-off.
Who bloody knows who is actually healthy, but based on the news as it stands right now, here's my team.

Vicario

Romero
Danso
VdV

Porro
Odobert
Palhinha
Gallagher
Spence

Muani
Tel

He cannot possibly play Simons, Destiny and Dom will need a big rest (maybe 10 off the bench), Archie could do with a rest too, albeit if Palhinha isn't fit then in he goes...bench of

Kinsky, Sarr, Gray, Udogie, Scarlett, Williams-Barnett, Byfield, Olusessi, Rowswell

Let's go there and force them back from the get-go. With Muani and Tel not having the same hold-up abilities as Dom, and our creativity essentially coming only from Porro, Odobert and Romero as a long-passer, we'll need to squeeze the play and not allow things to get too stretched.

They might have Snoop and Charlie, but we have THE KING BADGER...an optimistic 2-1 to Tottenham!

I think i would go

Vicario

Spence Danso VDV Udogie

Bissouma Gallagher

Odobert Xavi Tel

Solanke...

That would give Gray, Romero and Porro a rest before the big game next Wednesday...

Get Muani on for Solanke at 60 mins regardless of the score....

Other subs to be made according to the state of the game, who deserves to be taken off and who is on the bench......

Prioritization will be interesting

- Lose this and we could be 16th and 7 points off relegation battle with an extremely difficult February fixture list to come
- Win against Frankfurt next week and you go into round of 16 and avoid 2 games (with our injuries)

Xavi would be concern
Bergvall out
Porro has to get a rest at some point?
We need to manage Udogie & Solanke
Assuming Tel & Gallagher back?

Sarr back as well I hope.

I'd give both Porro and Udogie 60 mins by playing Spence for 90 and switching him from left to right or vice versa.

I think we have to give Porro a TOTAL rest. Did you see his fumble/miscontrol when played clean through on goal vs Dortmund?
That was a man running on fumes imo, we should heed the warning signs!

I'd go:

[centre]

Vicario
Spence Danso Dragusin VDV Udogie
Grey Bissouma Gallagher
Tel Muani
[centre]

We save some legs for Frankfurt
We make what use we can of Muani away from home (where crowd will be less harsh on his efforts)
We keep getting Solanke up to fitness
We give Xavi some time to heal a bit

With all the injuries we should have enough options to get a win at Burnley.

EDIT: Forgot about Bissouma so have swapped Sarr out for him

Would try to keep the promising partnerships.

Porro + Odobert.
Udoggie + Spence

Shame Xavi can't keep his run going.

I'd simply sub in as few changes as possible. Gallagher and Tel in to replace Bergvall and Xavi. VDV could start on the bench, or come back in for Danso. But he is a better out and out defender. VDV has the pace and amazing last ditch challanges, and probably comes back in too.

Bissouma a sub for Gray.

I know we've not played Burnley a lot due to their relegations but in this decade we have won 4 times up there which I believe is equal to the number of times we had since I started to support us in 1957, it had always been a difficult place for us, tight little ground with hostile fans, only been once and that was enough, mills and mines very depressing place from memory.

For me personally this game should be the priority, more so than both the Dortmund and Frankfurt games.

On a positive note the gap up to a European place isn't impossible at this point, but we have to get wins on the board. But then also the distance down and the upcoming fixtures. Really need a result here.

But playing players that are likely to get injured if they play won't be a good solution either of course.

Hope some of the players are in better condition than it seems from the outside.

Just the same intent and positivity we showed against Dortmund. I’d rather play on the front foot and go for it rather than the typical negative football we’ve seen under this manager for the most part during his tenure.
