We need a federal England with devolved powers to regional authorities and a greater balance of power. It annoys me that of the wealth generated by the country so much of it is centralised around London & the S. East. They give hand-outs to Scotland, Wales & N. Ireland to keep the rebellious celts happy but bypass the north of England which can rot as far as everyone else appears to be concerned.

They should stop pandering to Scotland and start looking closer to home, otherwise things will start to turn ugly as the rise of UKIP demonstrates.

You think the Union is stronger after today? Far from it as far as I'm concerned.

He didn't actually vote, think he just backed the Yes campaign. People are just so irrational when it comes to Andy Murray because of some joke he made about not wanting England to win the 2006 World Cup. You can want independance for your own country and still not hate England at the same time. But some people can't ever get over a joke he made 8 years, no wonder he voted for independance :lol:

Indeed. But sadly it can often work both ways in this "Union" we have, e.g. Scots saying they are British overseas when it suits, then denouncing the English and reminding others that they are in fact Scots when that suits.

I fear things across the UK in terms national identity are about to start getting a bit ugly...it probably would have been best all round if a Yes vote had won imo.

Everyone would probably have been happier long-term imo
