Great footballer but honestly, what did he ever for Engalnd at a major tournament?

Scored a goal against Germany that was wrongly ruled out. I can't remember a lot else that he contributed for England.

he scored plenty of goals, but more importantly he always did his job, it was rare he lost his man or got caught out of position, he didn't over complicate matters or try to show off playing Hollywood back passes, unlike one of international teammates who for some reason recieved more plaudits
