Brennan Johnson

We've seen a few of our players looking better coming on as a sub, than starting.
There is an argument that seeing the match play our from the sidelines allows the more intelligent players to take advantage of any gaps or flaws they see on the pitch. It is indeed interesting to see the performances differences from the likes of Hojberg and Johnson as opposed to when they have started.

I think that's a very good point, as in life sometimes you're too close to the problem to see the solution.

He looks our most dangerous player at the moment, putting great crosses in and looking to get on the end of any crosses come in from the left.
He put in a couple of peaches from the right and unfortunately no one was there to meet them. His movement for his goal was fantastic as well

He's really settling into this system wonderfully and we could do with another option there to provide something similar from the bench/when he inevitably hits a patch of poor form

He is excellent at gambling, he is always looking to get in at the back post for tap in's and his delivery is very good aswell.

It's a pity that for almost the first 30 mins everything came down the left, he never really got a chance to run at them after the goal and their defence was fragile.
One critique of him is he's quite reliant on the ball being played to him, he's not really someone who will search out the ball or get involved in deeper combination play so at times if he isn't played in he doesn't get many touches or involvement. The flip side is that it means he's usually keeping the width and high up the pitch which has its benefits. If we can vary the play and play a few more longer switch passes he can get more involved even in a game like yesterday where it was all coming down one side.

A good game from him from the start overall.

He was our out ball from their it corners which he did really well
Should leave him up the pitch on set pieces

Fotmob has him listed as an injury doubt for the Forest game, I hope not. Surely too early to say

I think he's adapting (very good attribute), he was very raw and Ange is pushing him to build on that (as he talks about in interview), and he's listening and executing
Agree, he is raw ( he is still a kid really) but he seems to be a intelligent young man who has obviously listened to Ang and you can see the improvement in his game.

its his second season in the EPL, one with a relegation team. now his first with us. His curve is upward and he is contributing whilst not dominating. He does not look like a player ( yet ) that will get man of the match. But his is part of a good team.
