Archie Gray

He's been good at CB, most likely because he got a run of games there and was able to settle. Two games at DM with a totally changed team that isn't performing isn't enough of a sample to make a judgement. There's very very few 19 year olds that have played as many games this season as Gray.
Spot on.

People can point to individual teenagers stepping up, typically when the conditions are right or it's a super special young player or a combination of both.

Started the season at 18. First season in the PL. Filled in well in an unfamiliar role at CB in a team that was struggling. It's essentially unheard of.

Mentality wise, accepting that it's difficult to judge from the outside, he seems just utterly spot on. Unphased, professional, brave. Quickly became a player we could rely on. So important for a young player developing.

So many bows to his string. Technically particularly, but also an athlete and smartness to play multiple roles and unfamiliar roles. For me key attributes that seem difficult to develop.

He just needs a bit of time imo. My feeling is that he's unlikely to need much time. But even if it takes him a couple of years he'll still be a young player.
