    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

It's a stupid rule, which adds to the confusion. What's a "deliberate action"? I think it's fair to say Tomiyasu deliberately tried to position himself to prevent Porro's shot from hitting the target. I'm sure he also deliberately moved his leg to block the shot. That's two deliberate actions...

Laziness and lack of awareness from so many players. Poor, poor defending.

And still they can't get it right. We need a VAR for VAR.

Yeah, one should hope their good fortune will stop at some point. Or at least just revert to mean.

Long may it continue. I just can't see anyone but City getting in their way next season, but they're an aging side who has won it all, and I worry they'll be hungry enough.

City might clinch it this season, but I worry about next. They look to be declining, while Arse are improving - and no other teams look likely to be genuine title challengers any time soon.

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal FC ***

Regarding the offside decision, it would be useful if they showed the thinner lines that the VAR refs use to decide the offside - as we saw in another thread from Romero's red against Chelski. Drawing up the thicker lines seems unneccesary and an just adds to the speculation and conspiracy...

Criminally incompetent. I forgive him for that first one, the incompetence there is from VAR.

Probably includes the other pen we should've gotten as well, before 0-2.

They were absolutely brilliant after we scored in the way they slowed the game down. We could learn from that. The ref of course should've been more aware and issued warnings for time wasting, but they never do. I think Arse were very clever in how far they went with it, though.

Small margins. So close to an equalizer on several occations. Then we conceede another two poor goals and deflate completely. Without Raya's howler, we wouldn't have scored, IMO. The end result flattered our overall performance, but then again 0-3 at the break wasn't really representative of...

    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

There was an offside before that, which would've stopped the game, if it wasn't for the refs deeming Romero's tackle as violent conduct, or whatever they call it. It's probably correct as per the rules, but to give a red card and a penalty after a confirmed offside and a dive that should've...

    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

Very interesting. A couple of things: Why don't they show the thinner lines on telly? Those thick lines are useless. Why don't they broadcast the VAR dialogue as well, so viewers can better understand the reasoning going on? Funny how they totally ignored Sterling's dive, too. That's a free...

    Cann we?

So Villa have Chelski (H), Brighton (A), Liverpool (H) and Palace (A) as their final fixtures. They'll probably dispose of Chelski and Palace easily, I suspect. Especially Chelski, who are saving themselves for their upcoming cup final. Our best hope will be that the conference league semi...

So it looks as if our old favourite Arne Slot is heading to Merseyside. Confirmed today he wants to manage Liverpool, and that there are negotiations in progress with Feyenoord.
