Glad he did not return to another premiership. He was, for me, our player of year last season ans seeing him on an opposing team would have been hard.... which is something strange to say for a one year loanee!! But we owe our Premiership status to him more than any other player. Pity we could...

He's not diving into reckless challenges... if that's what you mean...

    Jan Paul van Hecke

Explains why we were willing to be raked over hot coals to get the transfer done... https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13561628/jan-paul-van-hecke-to-tottenham-hotspur-why-defender-holds-the-key-to-roberto-de-zerbis-style-of-play-at-spurs

    Would relegation be that bad?

Can we please bury this post 6 feet under and hope it is never resurrected....

    Luca Williams-Barnett

I think he has more than pace. His ability to instantly bring a ball under control is outstanding and his dribbling is magical... I am not one for going overboard on a youngster (I will leave that for @Gutter Boy :D) but this kid excites me. I mentioned it earlier, but there are players where...

Or... in a less confrontational manner, get him to agree to an option to extend the contract by one year - solely at the club's discretion

I see LWB to be more appropriate for that position to be honest

    Guglielmo Vicario

and that has been our problem this transfer season... none of the senior players we were desperate to sell had any real demand, especially from premiership teams... and selling to the continent means accepting continental prices.

    Destiny Udogie

Not if we sell him to Porto as seems to be reported

    Will Lankshear

    Or an obligatory buy back...

    Victor Osimhen

Not necessarily... it's not as if he is in a side that is regularly making the CL semis or in a top league... Of course the same salary was offered by the scum up the road or the likes of a Barca, then I would agree. But can't see them getting having him and Gyokeres and the current situation...

We are not going to get a quality LB this year unless we sell Udogie - which looks unlikely at this stage. Guess Robbo will have to play more than we expected and explains why Souza's exit rumours have completely died down.

Really? Where? At a stretch cover for Porro but I suspect that RDZ sees that as an opportunity to give Archie game time this season ... so will not recruit any more in that position (also explains why we were so keen to get rid of Spence)

Maybe a CF in your view of the world but I suspect RDZ is not interested in Gakpo as a left winger...

    Cristian Romero

The fact that some posters are calling him "world class" shows how much we have sunk since Poch's generational team. Now THAT had genuine world class players.....
  17. M

    Cristian Romero

How "world class" has depreciated over the decades... this "superpower" you mention has nothing to do with anticipation - it is all about flying into tackles which, admittedly he does gets a high percentage of... however his recklessness means that statistically he always misses a percentage...

Evan Ferguson's not even English! :tearsofjoy: And you're so right... 21 goals last season , 16 in the premiership, is perfect evidence that Watkins is notably waning!!!

    Cristian Romero

True but then I look at his persistent availability and sudden recuperation when Argentina's competitive games came along... and see more than a coincidence...
