Yup, it was the initial period being discussed and how he hasn't been the same since. Ideally both CFs will be moved on, but it's not going to happen in one window. Hopefully we can get at least one in, and seemingly would be more likely Richi the one that leaves judging by RDZs comments about...

No it wasn't as simple as the goals he scored. His hold up and link up play was very good and we have missed that from him or whoever is playing CF since that period.....

Agree. This is the problem with a few of our players, and unfortunately if we want to progress we need to be ruthless with it. It's no good keep on referring back to when they were good before getting injured, especially when that time was some time ago - same for Udogie. If injuries persist...

    (Brennan) Johnson Again Olé Olé!

Johnson is not a striker, just like Grealish wasn't a striker and did well under Moyes....

    Transfer thread

Look at almost every other teams business in the PL, we are ahead of the curve. We was never just going to bring in a significant signing every week, there are many moving parts and credit to the club for getting the real big deals done first without waiting for a load of outgoings first...

    Nicolas Jackson

Don't see him as a CF, think he's better suited as LWF. For balance he's barely played there for us, one of the very few times he started CF was away to Leeds last season and scored a great goal - albeit deflected but was a good strike regardless.....

    Dominic Solanke

He was a top player for the first six months he was here, as many unknown quantities have been when first coming to the PL and then not sustained it. Hes never reached those levels since, of course at least in part due to his injuries but that's something you have to factor in. I don't think...

    Dominic Solanke

We need a new CF and I hope that talk about a few weeks ago about not wanting one this window proves to be nonsense. As for Udogie, I would genuinely rather we sold him and kept Souza - the experience of Robertson with the talent of Souza sounds like a pretty good blend to me and Udogie just...

    Cristian Romero

He is very good on the ball, that can't be argued. It's his defensive work that is far more erratic, you don't know what you're going to get from him unfortunately. Atletico would be a good move for all parties, and his antics would blend in fantastically in that side. Hopefully this gets...

Ah good, we are at the '48 hours' before the actual 48 hours that comes a week or two later :) ....

    Pre Season Thread

And to be fair it's a continuation from last season where he was growing into his role. As an aside I don't particularly like the suggestion of him playing as CF, I think he has a great cross and long range shot on him which wouldn't be utilised centrally up front. Keep him out left for the...

    Cristian Romero

Bingo. And when you factor in on top of that he's missed 35/76 league games last two seasons, he is just not worth it in terms of wages or otherwise. No ill will, but genuinely not bothered he's going....

    Pre Season Thread

It's been said before, but he is miles off being a PL footballer currently. Of course he's young and can/will improve, but those banging on last season (and even the season before) about why didn't we just play Moore and what not - there's a reason why, he's nowhere near good enough yet, if he...

    Cristian Romero

Yup. Hes still not world class though :D I have no issue with anyone rating him, but he's not world class no matter how it's dressed up - he wouldn't even be in the top 2 CBs at this club in the modern era FFS. There is a dearth of top quality CBs at the moment, even if you want to argue that...

    Cristian Romero

People aren't calling Kane world class off of the back of a World Cup. They are looking back at him putting in ridiculous numbers ten plus seasons in a row. Romero has barely had a consistent 'world class' season and that is the difference - he doesn't do anything consistently, except lose his...

    Cristian Romero

Pogba most definitely is not/was not world class. He is exactly the same type of example as Romero, a player who on his day could put in a top class performance but didn't do it often enough. Kane is perfect example of someone who is world class, putting in top performance after top...

    Nicolas Jackson

That sounds good in theory but that's just not reality. Kane missed plenty of chances for us (and in no way am I directly comparing Jackson to him) including his fair share of 'sitters' but his strength was that he would be in position for the next chance that came along and wouldn't hide.....
