Kinsky's passing -and RDZ's continual insistance of it- is such a joy to watch. I was impressed with how seamless Senesi was. VH was really good. I am still left puzzled by Gallagher. Bergy has so much potential to be so much, his decision-making is not always the best, but he was fun to watch...

I think you make a great point at the end, it's been messy for a long time and this is our way of unclogging the mess and allowing the next wave to progress properly. I think in De Zerbi's ideal world every single player would be a 'now-City-calibre' player for sure, and I think if a young...

I think DeZerbi would've been happy to keep him. He made the point clearly that if you're willing to be part of the pool, then excellent, all-in. If you're unhappy at not starting, or want guaranteed playing time, then it is best to leave. He's been pretty consistent with that. It seems like...

Could also be because DeZerbi understands what the player is capable of and wants him to do that. Add giving him the confidence, trust and belief to do it, and I am unsurprised at the results.

I think the missing nuance there is trust. Trusting it could be done, trusting it would be done, knowing that ther senior players would make sure it would be done on the pitch if the tactic were to be fully deployed. Management.

Indeed! Very good management at a crazy time, using senior players to help. Bobby Robson did it in Italia '90. Didn't bring it home. Ange would've!

Agreed. And I think to be what we want to be we are going to have to do this. City do it, as do Chelsea. Sometimes you lose out, sometimes you win, but it keeps things moving and not stale, plus young prospects see that we will progress careers.

He is a player I really liked, someone I feel could well be a top striker, and equally I don't think he was ready for what RDZ wants from us in the Prem and was thus happy to accept the club decision to sell him. But I'd love to see him smash it this season for sure...

I certainly didn't feel slighted by it mate, especially as I tried to point out there were -when you looked beyond the headlines- a lot of other contexts and matters to consider, not the least of which was being used by a system and his childhood diagnosis.

I repeatedly pointed out that the more I read, the more it looked like he was a victim of being used and manipulated. I also made it pretty clear that I felt his autism/spectral diagnosis as a child was very significant. I ended up in a bizarre debate where I had to explain the premise of...

Romero was Ange's skipper during a massive injury crisis which resulted in us winning our first European trophy for 41 years. Several stellar games in the later rounds. So no. You can debate whether the manager mismanaged our defensive strategies if you like, but this player? No. BTW, he got 3...

I grimly accepted that for what the club wanted to be, and with Levy in charge, he was an OK choice. It was thin ice backing of the manager because he was our manager and I felt it was important to support him/move on from what I saw as a sad decision to sack a winner. Saying we were guaranteed...

He was totally mismanaged by a man out of his depth.
