To your earlier point about it seeming planned, that does sound like the case. There's a lot of [conspiracy or otherwise) theories floating around about how it's the Moroccan king who endorsed it, politically motivated, backing of the US etc. etc.

Apparently there was a ruling by the Spanish Supreme Court in the last few weeks that anyone swimming around the barrier could claim asylum, whereas anyone climbing over the barrier would have their claim rejected. Sounds like a loophole in the wording of the applicable Spanish law that has now...

I started keeping a log 2019-2020, which I think were also my first 2 away games since getting the ST at Wembley. I start this season on 366 after the cull.

The application might be online. But having to visit a processing centre isn’t. Having to provide all the required documentation pointed out above may not be possible for many who intend to claim asylum. You said it was easy for anyone with a valid asylum claim to book a EUR 100 flight from...

Well off the top of my head - if I were fleeing war/persecution : I might not have enough time to go through a lengthy visa application process; I may not be able to travel to the applicable visa processing centre which might be hundreds of miles from my home or may even be in a different...

No if you are coming from any country that is on the UK visa-required list, the airline must check your documentation before you board. Even for non-Visa countries the UK now has something akin to the US ESTA scheme. So it’s highly unlikely you can just book a flight and fly in.

Yes I am surprised at how absolute it is. Let’s see what happens next and if any FAs change their stance.

But it’s not fair at all to assume that anyone arriving by the channel does not have a valid claim to asylum. As of now asylum can’t be claimed from abroad. So you can’t just hop on a plane or a ferry even if you have a legitimate claim as you would need to produce the correct visa or other...

410 cut-off for Brentford. About as expected. Think last season was 415. Tough to get up to that level without European aways.

I went to see the theatre production of To Kill A Mockingbird today. It was brilliant. But also depressing because, whilst I’m not comparing here to the 1930s American Deep South, there was still a resonance with what we see happening all around us now.

There were times (I’m sure there were!) when he looked like he might turn things around a bit but ultimately his heart was never there playing for us or even playing PL.
