    New Captain Poll

I think it will be Maddison but only if he is fit enough to start the season. Voted for him on the basis he will be. If not, VDV. Porro and Robertson as VCs (VDV taking one of those slots as vc if not captain). Edit to say I think both Maddison and Robertson have the right characters to be...

    Archie Gray

Had to scroll to page 3 to find Archie’s thread. He seems to be very comfortable in his captain role. Interesting that RDZ spoke with Ben Davies first before awarding the captaincy to Archie (for these pre-season games). I am enjoying the RDZ approach.

I love the ‘he’s good but not complete, however we can make him better” approach. Praise yes but an honest and constructive appraisal.

There have been a few different theories (guesses) as to why but the main ones seem to be a) that it was the Moroccan government (or king - maybe the same thing?) doing some flexing because Sanchez met recently with his Algerian counterpart and Morocco didn’t like that. Apparently similar has...

    FIFA: Destroying Football Since 1904

No it seems that there was no consultation with any of the associations. But the couple of interviews I heard with reps from the Africa FAs were definitely supportive. (Apologies as I can see I implied there had been something official from them).

    FIFA: Destroying Football Since 1904

Support came from the African member associations, and I don't think the LatAm group published any statement either way? His main focus now will be on prepping member associations to re-elect him next March, should there by any challenge to his position, which you would think there would have...

Shocking on Newsnight re the Morocco/Ceuta/Spain/incident that no one is mentioning how most of the 'migrants' have now returned to Morocco and won't be crossing into the UK (despite still being in North Africa).
