I agree, and I'm still shocked by it. Honestly, I was delighted with Frank's appointment - surely a manager who'd done so well with Brentford would be a success with a team full of potential? A classy articulate guy who'd lead us to glory. How could I have got it so wrong? It's really got me...

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Atletico Madrid ***

If players don't know where to run, it's hard for them to play with intensity. More and more it seems like a lack of clear coaching.

I was about to write exactly the same thing. Wow.

    Pedro Porro

Definitely. Despite having no time for him at the start of his Spurs career – I like my defenders solid and he was anything but – I've really warmed to him. Great attitude, never gives up, seems a model pro too.

Absolutely. How on earth is that not a pen? Regardless of whether Richi could get a shot off, he was clearly impeded. FFS.

What was the trigger in our downward trend?

This is the first time in 30 years that I've genuinely feared relegation. My pet theory is that it's all a question of momentum. Success breeds success – winning every week becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, as you eke out those last-minute wins that bolster the feeling of invincibility...

Champions League 25/26: Dortmund, PSG, Villarreal, Frankfurt, Slavia, Bodø/Glimt, Copenhagen, Monaco

Absolutely this. Continental fans get to wave flares around, make monkey chants, etc. But three tossers making Nazi salutes at a club known for (and taking pride in) its Jewish heritage? Let's throw the book at them.

    Remember that penalty against Bentancur...

EVERYONE knows that the PGMOL is a joke. Inconsistent decisions every single week. And it's not VAR that's the problem – it's the humans running it all. I've long supported the theory that bad decisions even themselves out over the season, but now it's just taking the tinkle.

Of course he hasn't - they don't go anywhere near that far north.

    Luka Vuskovic

"A different beast" is exactly what Vuskovic is! In previous seasons, I'd have said that it's one thing being a defender putting up great stats for a team that's on the back foot all the time, as opposed to playing for one that's bossing possession. However, we're clearly no longer the bosses...

I'd completely forgotten about that Dele Alli goal. My GHod, but he made the game look so easy. What a talent he was.

    Luka Vuskovic

While Danso has proved to be a pretty damn good defender – arguably as good a third choice as we've ever had in the Prem – I think it's more questioning whether Vuskovic would get minutes ahead of VdV or Romero. Which is a no. Anyway, Vuskovic has said as much in interviews. Stripping away the...

Does anyone have a screengrab of that? It didn't feature in any of the short highlights packages I've seen.

    Conor Gallagher

TEMPO is the word for me. I feel that one of the things we've been lacking for some years now is a degree of control in midfield. TBH, we've missed it since Eriksen left. I don't think it mattered much with Ange's system of (barely) organised chaos, but I think Frank's more measured approach is...
