What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Neither had Solanke had he before joining us?

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

It was sloppy from the players who for whatever reason didn’t seem dialled in. So many were off the pace, showed no eagerness, no energy. It was a flat disjointed lethargic performance and it’s hard to know how much of that came from Thomas Frank.

*** Tottenham Hotspur Vs Forest *** OMT

Kudus seems like a YouTube footballer at the moment. Nice piece of skill every so often that gets replayed and his reputation built as a ‘baller’ but he can be so laboured in possession, lacks end product too often, and Kulusevski walks right back into the team in Kudus position when he returns.

*** Tottenham Hotspur Vs Forest *** OMT

Absolutely. And when Kolo Muani gets the ball, he’s direct tries to go at it but as he’s coming from a wide position he’s left with too much to do.

Richarlison definitely needs to be taken off. Kolo Muani should be our striker.

I genuinely don’t know what we are doing. Davies was in the box, had time, then turned and kicked the ball out of play. Whyyyyy?

Was it the players Christmas party last night? So so sloppy in possession today. Can’t blame Thomas Frank as just too many individual mistakes.

Like life, it’s just a matter of perspectives and narratives. And it all depends whose perspective it’s from.

*** The official 2025/26 Premier League thread ***

This shows that they aren’t the team that they think they are. No way do they win any trophies this season based on how they played tonight. City will win the league, just hope they beat Palace for a change tomorrow.

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Imagine if we had signed Vertonghen instead of Ryan Nelson and Suarez instead of Saha. I can’t help but feel that lifetime costing bit us hard there.

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

100% this. The issue initially was no evidence of improved performances and results. No apparent steps in the right direction. If we revert to a Palhinha and Bentancur midfield, or create less than 1xG then I expect some will sound off. However if we put in a strong performance then, even...

    Dominic Solanke

On the bench tomorrow? Seems like he’s been hinting heavily at a return on his social media.

What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Why not? I think you’re in luck as we are behind other clubs in the queue and so he won’t join us anyway.

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

I respect and appreciate how we have improved in performance and results recently. I said a lot of negative things about Thomas Frank but have always wanted him to succeed as it leads to the best outcome for all parties. Hopefully now we will be more forward thinking and our results and...

    Archie Gray

I think he could. He can play and cover multiple positions which is invaluable. So if he performs well and gets called up in the next International break then he has a good chance.

Champions League 25/26: Dortmund, PSG, Villarreal, Frankfurt, Slavia, Bodø/Glimt, Copenhagen, Monaco

I wasn’t aware about the other rumours. Only that his injury is dragging on far longer than we had expected and that him being withdrawn from the squad clearly doesn’t bode well for at least not for the next month.

Champions League 25/26: Dortmund, PSG, Villarreal, Frankfurt, Slavia, Bodø/Glimt, Copenhagen, Monaco

All I can see is that Solanke was out for over 60 days, therefore he can be replaced. Why would he be replaced if he’s likely to be fit to play in either or both of the next UCL matches?

Champions League 25/26: Dortmund, PSG, Villarreal, Frankfurt, Slavia, Bodø/Glimt, Copenhagen, Monaco

But if Solanke was to be fit to play in the group stage, surely he wouldn’t have been withdrawn? So that suggests that he won’t be fit until at least the end of January, which is a longer time out than had previously been hinted at or anticipated outside of the club. I really had high hopes...

    Xavi Simons

He needs to start v Slavia Prague on Tuesday. Great performance today and if he can deliver against Slavia then this likely will be the big turning point.

    Randal Kolo Muani

If we want to sign him, we would be doing the right thing to do all we can in January to make the deal permanent. He’s more likely to sign whilst he’s here with us. He is clearly our best fit all round striker, and when and if Solanke returns, the both of them mean that we could move...
