I see what you are saying. But, if that was the case, why hasn’t it happened already, the money is out there.

We are worth more before any huge success, as anyone able to afford us would be doing so for nefarious reasons, and therefore would want to be able to claim they generated the success.

I don’t care where the owners come from, but if we just get involved in an arms race with outside investment that’s me out too. I don’t think I’d stop watching football, I’d go and find a club who are doing things the right way.

City and Chelsea will still spend more than we ever have available. Liverpool have cheated more than anyone, they have been involved in US Postal levels of organised doping.

Agree with the first bit. Don’t think the second bit is possible without cheating.

I agree with a lot of that, and absolutely agree with your conclusion. But I think he was good at the football side. If he wasn't, we would have been Leeds/Villa/Sheffield Wednesday.

It makes me question their judgement.

I’m proud that the club have tried to do things the right way. I’d have been disgusted and turned my cards in had we just tried to buy success, that would be meaningless.

Considering the stated aims of both THST and CFT, I’m surprised neither pay any attention to our rating here, https://www.fairgameuk.org/fair-game-index-2024

My original comment, which Jurgen has taken exception to, is that some people do think Levy did an exclusively bad job, and that Levy deserves no credit for anything. You don’t have to look very hard on SM to find them. I called these people, thick as brick.

And were nowhere near the European Cup. Levy delivered that.

Levy didn’t take over a top 6-8 club, he took over a club more accustomed to fighting relegation. He made us a top 6-8 club, then he made us a top 4 club.

Not a bad comparison, one of, if not the, greatest football managers of all time.

Next game we don’t win? I doubt he’ll get to “fudge up a transfer window” before the abuse starts.

Only if you ignore the seismic changes in the sport. And even then, the average is close. We've only won 18 trophies in 143 years. 2 in 17 is a rounding error difference. At what point does a club become a not "smaller club", and have their chairs performance graded solely on trophies?

I'm in gammon central in Essex, there are honestly hundreds of poorly hung flags, and badly defaced roundabouts and zebra crossings, multiple mis-spellings of the word "England" on the crossings, and of course, masked and hooded people outside of hotels. I guarantee none of these fudgers would...

why, it was easier for a club of our stature pre 2000, yet we have matched the clubs long term average what are the chances of a non PL team winning either domestic knock out cup each season, and does their failure to do so mean they are being badly run?
