Indeed. Also just read an interesting article in The Telegraph about how the PL bubble might be bursting. In real terms the deals are less on a per match basis than 10 years ago, streaming companies not diving in as expected, viewership declining in international markets like the US. TNT happy...

Even they sold Elanga to be fair to them.

I must say I do like in general the willingness of the PL clubs to be pragmatic with their dealing this summer. It feels a lot more like the NBA, where teams have a really clear idea of how they want to play, and are willing to move big players on in order to be able to play the system they...

    Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

Agreed. I guess in a sense what I mean is that the line of attack is so crap that a lack of acknowledgment is a perfectly fine combatting strategy.

I think this messaging is SO dumb. It’s a really poor critique of ENIC, that is so easy for ENIC to combat. Profit over glory just suggests that they are trying to siphon profits out of the club in order to line their pockets, results be damned. That isn’t what is happening, they ARE...

OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs PSG

This is it. Sitting in is not the cheat code. I think unfortunately Lee scored an amazing goal and opened it up. Great finish from him. Otherwise we might have held on.

Need to keep our discipline here, not get too excited in the middle third in challenges.

OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs PSG

I think, if you decide to emphasise set pieces, you need to play a big, tall, strong side. And that’s something Arsenal have struggled with in breaking teams down occasionally because they’ve emphasised physicality. So I don’t think it’s a cheat code as such. It is though a great way to put fear...

OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs PSG

I think physical preparation at the elite level is such a factor that I don’t think it evens out. I’m still loving this, but I’m hesitant to get too excited about what it means for our season. If we get through the first few months, and we’re competing in CL and PL, beating big teams and...

OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs PSG

I think we shouldn’t get carried away in terms of what it means for the season, but we should absolutely do in terms of potentially another trophy if we can hold on. So often we’ve had the brick end of the stick and been unlucky with the draw, or the bounce of the ball, the finest of margins not...

Richy after an actual pre season looks sharp, is making good decisions, and his quality is shining through. Love that. He’s got a role to play this season as a hold up player.

OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs PSG

Loving this. I think we’re ahead physically in preparation and that’s why we have a great chance to win this. I don’t want to read into it so much. But that said, we look organised. We’re winning our duels. And we’ve played a tall, strong team to maximise the set pieces, which clearly we’ve...

    Eberechi Eze

Perhaps Spence is an ok shout there, I liked him at LB last season but I’m just not sure that Frank plays inverted in the same way. OTOH, the more I think about the VDV at left back idea, the more I like it. Under Frank I can see that working, especially if we aren’t playing as high a line under...

    Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

I think it’s a perfectly fair argument to debate whether the existing strategy we deploy is the right one to help us take the next step in our progression. Personally I feel under Levy’s stewardship, if things are going to stay the same, the strategy we are pursuing is the right one. The wrong...

Sorry, I thought wages were mentioned previously in the context of increasing wages would lessen transfer budget etc.

    Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

I think it’s fair to argue that there is somewhere in between realistic and unrealistic that increases spending on wages. Unless the argument is ‘because Levy does it, it is infallibly correct’, in which case we may as well all pack up and go home. I understand that there might be trade offs...

    Eberechi Eze

I remember one time we did try for Moutinho and commented on it afterwards. And I have some sympathy with the idea that we get close to these players - the types that would help us reach the next level, but we don’t close the deal. Dybala’s image rights, MGW. There’s a lot of these. Spurs don’t...

    Eberechi Eze

I’m kinda fine on this one, provided VDV can actually play regular football after a good pre season and doesn’t need to be ‘managed’. I’d rather him as a centre back, with Danso and Radu as sufficient cover, with Frank’s style probably allowing Radu to be more comfortable. Equally I take your...

    Eberechi Eze

Wouldn’t be surprised, and the IF in my original post was doing a lot of work. By the same token though, if we pull it off, I think credit will be due for a great window.

    Eberechi Eze

Get Savinho and Eze, after Kudus, with Pahlinha coming in, and I’d say that’s a damn good window. Would only want an Udogie back up to add to it. Not sure that it puts us in title contention, but it’s a very strong window for the club that should be praised if we can pull it off.
