German football is essentially Bayern and then a huge gap to the chasing pack who are all much of a muchness - the challenge is to overcome Bayern it's not like the PL in that regard where we have three or four Bayerns

Hard to compare - Klopp & Dortmund were the second club in a one horse league. Poch never managed in those circumstances - having one club to overcome vs having several is objectively a harder task. Also if Poch got the backing Klopp got at Liverpool (and vice versa) then things could have been...

Tottenham Hotspur 2025 Europa League Winners !!!!!!!

Only taken place once so seems logistics are an issue. I'd be happy to see us squeeze it in - I'm sure if there is money to be made from it we'll try and make it happen. It would be funny if, that after waiting so long for a trophy, 3 turn up at once 😂

Cup competitions don't tell you who the best team is otherwise that makes the winner of the FA Cup the best team in England - so I don't agree with your logic on winning the CL there. That's what makes cup competitions so great - you can turn up for a run of games and/or get a rub of the green...

I don't like him as a writer and don't care for the tone of the article either.

Good job of highlighting what was said over time and how things changed. What gets me is that so many people bought in to the talk and vibes yet over time all that talk has ultimately been shown to be empty (as pointed out in the article) - so what's left once that's taken away?

Nah, as much as people want there to be a singular point of blame (owners) it's just not that black and white. Poch era went south for different reasons to Mourinho and he failed for different reasons to Conte and so on. Of course within that there will be things that could have been done...

Jose came in selling the dream that he was the missing piece of the jigsaw - more fool Levy for buying it but the scenario sold to him was that everything was here for Jose to succeed. There was also the COVID to contend with.

I don't believe you can just set about a 5 year plan like that, at least not with a single manager - obviously in an ideal scenario you appoint a manager and he works out well and progresses and earns a couple of contact extensions, bit if you appoint a manager that doesn't work out? What you...

Contingency planning : we've found our guy

Football management is a funny old game - I'd throw out a theory that by and large it's as much about being in the right place as it is about being a great manager. I reckon there are very few elite managers, they are mostly all very good and have a run of jobs where it clicks and/or they have a...

What our level is and what we are aspiring to/capable of are different things - maybe I've misread but there seems to be some framing of the situation that you're either a footballing romantic wanting cup wins/success or you're a steady Eddie who would prefer to be sitting in 5th - my response...

Why do we keep referring to 5th/6th? No one wants to settle for that. We have shown previously that when we get it right we are several notches above that and not far away from being at the very top - the aim is to get back to that level and push on

Terminology argument but underdog would be used when you'd expect one team to win/lose much more than the other - I'd imagine if United were favourites it would have only been very slight.

I feel like my post covers that - people are saying he's not a 60m player but if we can get him at a more reasonable price that reflects his level then make it happen I'm saying if he's not now or potentially a 60m player then why do we want him? Like I said nothing wrong with negotiating the...

Comparing apples & oranges really. All that matters to me as a fan of a PL club is how would/did a manager fare at this level - if I was a fan of a club in a lower league then I'd be looking at different evidence.

It was a mishmash, I think when you start a with a new manager it takes time for them to bed their ideas in, to get the players doing all the little things required throught the 90 minutes and in different situations and yes you also have overhang from the previous managers style and tactics...
