    Next Spurs Manager v.2

For all of the complaints about how we give nobody time, would we really have been so happy to have seen any of our previous managers since our upturn to stay? Jol - Lovely bloke and was gutted when he left but we bottled every big game and were beginning to stagnate under him. Ramos - Needn't...

    Paulinho

Re: Official - Paulinho Doubt Sandro would have made it anyway, was always facing a huge battle after injury and they have so much talent. I'd have been surprised to see him in there even if he was playing week in week out with us.

Would you be happy to stick with what we have (players) for next season?

He's spent some games just wandering about looking ****ed off. I empathise with him somewhat considering the lack of service, but Adebayor hasn't had as much trouble finding himself in goalscoring positions so why has Soldado? By visibility, it's more visible when a midfielder lacks application...

    The Centre Back thread

Re: Central defenders I'd only buy if we sell, and I don't think we should be looking to sell anyone. If we do buy then I want them to have PL experience. In that case someone like Lescott, Richards, Colocinni or even Rio Ferdinand wouldn't be the worst signings.

Would you be happy to stick with what we have (players) for next season?

Soldado has had games where he has been equally as lethargic as Paulinho but he doesn't come under as much stick because it's not as visible. I don't think anyone defending Paulinho is saying that he's had a good season, he obviously hasn't, but I think he's shown glimpses of talent that show...

    Next Spurs Manager v.2

Yep, I think the fact that he had so much time to try and develop something new and steadfastly refused to despite their lack of progress proves that. Lets re-visit this next season and see how Palace are shaping up but he deserves a load of credit for what he's managed to do so far

Would you be happy to stick with what we have (players) for next season?

Adebayor won't score regularly when he has nothing to prove and Sherwood has also created the perfect environment for Adebayor to get 'comfortable' Going by his previous I doubt he'll be effective next season and certainly doesn't justify the wages he's on

MEGA RANT time for Levy & Co to go

Pochettino is probably the stand out. Laudrup was fairly unexpected but fizzled out. Saudi Sportswashing Machine have pretty much hired exclusively against the grain so there's that.....

That's fine that you haven't seen it with AVB and during his tenure you were largely proved right. I imagine that he will still have success elsewhere but just wasn't the right fit for us. He was still by far more qualified and suitable at the time of hiring than Martinez based on...

    Next Spurs Manager v.2

Stoke had something like the third highest net spend over the past few seasons or something crazy like that. I think he under-delivered at Stoke when you look at how little they progressed with the money spent

    Next Spurs Manager v.2

I think you're giving AVB way too much credit here. AVB did some good things but the next manager has a huge job on his hands. Not impossible but a he'll need time to forge an identity that has been lost amongst so many new signings over the past two seasons.

    Next Spurs Manager v.2

What I meant by that is he ticked all of Levy's boxes. Didn't work out but the logic was there. This is the thing that makes manager appointments very difficult and why the success rate is so low across the majority of teams. I really like Martinez, and with hindsight maybe he would have been...

    Aaron Lennon

Other than being fast and English what comparisons would you draw between them? I think Walcott is a better overall player than Lennon but if he was put in our team, in Lennons position, in our formation, then his contribution wouldn't be equal to what he delivers for Arsenal.

    Next Spurs Manager v.2

AVB on paper made perfect sense. Young, intelligent, reputation, trophies etc, etc. I was fully behind the appointment but ultimately he turned out not to be the right fit Biggest problem was them both being as headstrong as one another and the disintegration of that relationship. Same

    Next Spurs Manager v.2

Not sure if this is sarcastic or not :) He's just a bit flavour of the month at the moment. I'll admit his work with Palace is changing my perception of him but he needs to go a long way to the fairly disgraceful nature of that Stoke team. Many also quick to gloss over the amount of money he...

Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Re: Official - Adebayor Not buying a word of that. Just unnecessary, thinly veiled digs at AVB. Him saying that he trains hard is laughable considering it's been quite the contrary at every club he's played at. Adebayor reverts to type when he has nothing to prove and I wouldn't expect him to...
