VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

Have just read that KMI panel feel Brobbey should have been sent off v Spurs by the worst offending referee in PL, Jones has been identified as the official with most errors concerning 2nd yellow cards this season (5, 2 involving our opponents), he's a real champion having lead the field in the last 2 seasons and is pushing hard for that hattrick. No real connection but teams with deep pockets seem to be the beneficiary of his charitable attitude to foul play. Strange in a game where experts and pundits flood the viewers with stats this is one never mentioned.
Well let's hope he doesn't referee any more of our games this season because if he does, you know that will be the game where he decides he needs to shake this bad reputation and a second yellow will be handed to one of our players, even though in this case it will be undeserving.
And yes, I have just been fitted for a new tinfoil hat.

Can't believe they didn't award a penalty for that, blatantly tapped the ball away

When even Martin Keown thinks it’s a penalty you know that VAR have fecked up again 😤

The refs in England have in my opinion decided to make people not like the VAR tool. It is either that or they are incompetent.

After the Arsenal penalty furore this week, I’ve not seen one person anywhere pointing out that contact does not equate to a foul.

Have the rules of football changed?

VAR has not enhanced the experience of watching football or removed the controversies of decisions. I can not see it being scrapped as it has been embedded into the top level of the game worldwide and does not appear to be as badly managed as it is in PL.
There is a lot of confusion in the followers of the sport in what it can be used for and many issues which have an impact on the matches which appear to be ignored.
The time it takes to reach a decision is one of the prime issues with fans at the games and many feel a limit should be set. The vital call in yesterday's match took over 4 minutes, a 30 second time limit would probably allowed the goal to stand.
The VAR suggestion to review implied there may be a reason for referee to disallow the goal and although it might have been correct so many other fouls were ignored.
VAR has undermined the authority of the referees, this is their own fault as many appear to believe they can apply the laws however they like. I believe there needs to be a radical review of the whole refereeing organisation and the influence the PL have over it which must have more transparency, accountability and stronger action on incompetence at all levels.
We all make mistakes and as long as we accept our errors and make genuine efforts to improve I think we can live with it but not the arrogance and the pathetic announcement a few weeks later that there may have been wrong.
Sorry bit long but get so frustrated with the continual controversy week after week.

What is so daft is that when you look at yesterday's disallowed goal in real time, you don't see a foul. It isn't clear and obvious. The freeze frame is highly misleading. I think everyone, not just Spurs fans, has seen that the team, which will win the title, has benefitted from some very one-sided refereeing, with penalty decisions in their favour -not least decisions not to award a pen against their players for holding opposition players in the box.
