Thomas Frank - Head Coach

The point is we are still getting loads of injuries. As are many teams in the league. It’s not that Thomas Frank is to blame, it’s that it’s absolutely ridiculous to think you’re in a position as a fan to place that blame on any one person.

Thomas Frank has his first big test on his hands. He has to make us attack as even if, before today, the goals for column appeared to show that we were playing well in attack. I think that we all know that that’s not the reality. He needs to get this sorted as right now there will be people saying that he should go. Even this early. Im not one of those people but look how quickly Nuno went from us. So this kind of situation has been played out before if Frank can’t sort it.

It's like with every game he removes a little more attacking play and creativity....
Starting from the Super Cup to where we are today.
Bit by bit we are becoming more and more negative in our play and everything we know.
Frank only needed to tweak what Ang created and make us a little bit more solid and less chaotic... but he's over done it in my opinion.

Frank will get time as long as we’re competing in the CL. But this is the worst football I’ve seen since Nuno and AVB. Those managers had far, far better forwards than we have now but Frank isn’t helping himself sticking with Palinha and Bentancur like it’s a religion.

Bentancur isn’t even the problem, it’s how he’s being used. Remember how well Bentancur played under Conte before he was injured. He didn’t just sit back and pass it backwards and sideways. So something else is up, either his injuries hampered his game or he’s being asked to be conservative with his play.

I never thought I would see more boring, conservative football played at Spurs than I did under AVb. How wrong I was!

Bentancur is getting pelters on here all season but Pahlinha is very poor on the ball. Defensively, he is outstanding but you can see why he didn’t cut it at Munich.

The one today when Vic saved and we had a counter on with him and he passed diagonally backwards was one of the most cowardly passes I’ve seen on a pitch in a long time.

Don’t get me wrong, he does bring something we’ve lacked for a long time in terms of bite but on the ball, not so good.

The problem is that this horribly negative manager wants to play both Palhinha and Bentancur together. Then not content with that he also wants to play Bergval and Sarr so we actually have Mickey Flannaghan style ‘proper fcuk all’ creativity through the midfield.

The best thing about today’s game was the result. It was 0-1 when it should’ve been 0-4

The problem is our crappy fans won't allow a manager who actually knows what he's doing to learn and figure things out. Yes, no surprise you're posting after a bad result.

The amount of individual misstakes in this games are more than I have ever seen on this level.
Some examples:
I don't think Frank tells Porro to pass straight to Chelsea players or not being able to hit ONE cross to a Spurs player.
I don't think Frank tells Spence to be nonchalant and lose the ball, and then tells Xavi to make a poor 5m pass and then tell VdV to pass straight on to a Chelsea player.
I don't think Frank tells Vicario to waste 30 sec on overtime and then to pass it to Spence who pass it back to Vicario who then in panic hits it straight to the keeper.
...
Like we set up 4-2-3-1 nothing strange and the players should be good enough to create ONE big chance even without a coach.

I really think we have a bunch of doughnuts for players, especially in the front line where we have wasted an enormous amount of money.
People keep asking for Sarr to start for Xavi to start for Odobert to start.... But it is the same, they are not good enough. They might become good players but they are not ready for a PL team now that wants to compete!

Honestly the real elite players we have to select from today are Romero, VDV, Palhinha and Kudus I do rate Maddison but he is good only for like 20 games a season, Deki adds a bit of grit and creativity we could need, but can be out of form for long periods as well...
