25/26 Injury and illness thread

It’s been 3 years of this gonads now ! 2 different manager, 2 different medical teams.. it wouldn’t be so bad but half the time the injuries don’t seem to happen in the games themselves!

Looking around the league there is a trend now.

I was watching some talk a while back on The PL and how fit is too fit and there is a train of thought that players are just now too athletic to the point their bodies are now on the line of being fragile and not robust enough for the sport they are in.

Something has shifted. Or we cant employ a decent medical team

The players are being worked like dogs too. Non stop travel, non stop tournaments. No down time at all. It’s only going to get worse.

But I still read it’s all Ange’s fault on here.

Minutes played, presumably before tonight

Rounded to nearest hundred by me, to reduce noise. We must take care of the guys near the top of this list, or they will be injured next.

I was pleased Vicario VdV (Kudus) sat this out

1200 Porro Vicario VdV
1100 Kudus
1000 Bentancur Palhinha
900 Spence
800 Richie Romero
700
600 Sarr Bergvall Xavi Danso
500 Johnson Odobert
400
300 Udogie Tel Gray
200
100 Muani Kinsky Solanke

I feel players that actually play 75+ minutes in a game need more rest inbetween games, give their bodies more time to heal.
Fine, train the other dogs, but not those that played 75+

calf strain, adductor and now side strain

and we don't look as fit or aggressive against most teams

has TF been too conservative with training? are the players now under-trained ?

Didn't you see who's been taking training lately?

Just not sure your angle here. To me, you're coming across as very defensive about Ange again in your last few posts and still fighting the big fight about him. Fair play.

We all know last season's injuries fell into the grey space. Over training vs bad luck vs greater playing schedules (inc internationals). Throw in the perpetual cycles you get into with a full squad not being available putting on a strain and risk of even more injuries.

I do believe the in-game stats suggests that the intensity is not at previous levels. We don't know whether Frank's training methods are contributing though.

Of course, if I was being complete devil's advocate I would say that 2 years of playing under Ange has contributed to this season's injuries. That theory can belong in the same grey space as the rest of this conversation
