It's the place that annoys me, for all the talk of Spurs underachievement, what would the last 20 years have looked like for us without Chelsea, City, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, cheating their way to the top?

Totally agree. I guess the only caveat is that seeing the potential in the game, the league, the club etc is what ENIC did, and they took their bet on it. But because it’s a great opportunity, other owners saw fit to put their own spin on it too

So I guess my point is, I would have loved to see a world in which we end up competing with United and I guess Arsenal as the true challengers with sustainability at our core, the fact that other owners could also come in, as ours did, is just part of the game itself. It has to be factored in, and so we are where we are.

This latest round of ‘getting around the rules’ does seem especially egregious though. I haven’t read too deeply into it and still need to, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some justification around promoting / investing in the women’s game for example, which just so happens to conveniently benefit the men’s side too.

This is also why I've been saying I'm less fussed about doing it the 'right way' anymore. When you can have put all the work in to do something sustainably and then you have to compete with this nonsense, I'd rather just join the party ourselves. We have done the hardest part.
There is no right way
You literally just have to have owner funding and that will never happen with our owners

Selling your own womens team. To another company you own. Is not putting money into the women's game.
