Danny Rose

I'm with you - a lot of it was accurate and hard to dispute. The manner of saying it was wrong though

I don't disagree with the manner was wrong, but it is an underlying issue at the club.

How someone can claim to be underpaid on 65k a week when a nurse makes 20 a year is beyond me, but sadly that's football.

He may or may not be right about what he said, however running to the press and shouting his mouth off was WRONG and i think most reasonable folks who agree with that. If he was unhappy here and wanted out put in a fudging transfer request not run telling tales to the gutter press. And has for what Spurs fans have been saying all summer well that's a red herring, most fans who i know and have spoken too think Rose is a dingdonghead for doing what he did.

Most fans are frustrated with the lack of signings this summer, the club has been a bit of a shambles this summer - some of it surprises me as they are normally slick when it comes to things off the field.

I think this a good example of the lengths 'some' players will go to if they dont get their own way.
I find it very illuminating as it shows the true character of these players.

My own character is deeply vindictive so in an ideal world the the little taco would wash the other players cars for the rest of contract:cool:

It depends on what you consider to be most fans, i know personally just as many who are happy and think 4/5 players ( which has been suggested by some fans) is over the top. As for the club being a shambles this summer again i do not see that, what shambles there has been is the Rose outburst ( something which is down to him not the club) and the ranting of some fans who as we all know like to bitch about Levy etc.

A shambles? I couldn't disagree more!

A shambles would be paying 75m for lukaku, or being caught for tapping up a Southampton player then having to pull out, or having your best player go on strike and then offer him 300k a week, or have the manager of the current champions openly criticizing the board for selling players and not getting many in.

No, I'm sorry, WE have not been a shambles!

Nice weekend preview in the Guardian:

Spurs aim to pick up where they left off

Spurs ended last season like a team who were ready to go all summer. They won their last two games, away to Leicester and Hull, by the walloping margins of 6-1 and 7-1, to complete a run of 12 wins in 13 matches at the end of the Premier League season. It was an emphatic, if ultimately futile, response to those who thought they would fade away like they did in 2015-16, when they infamously lost their final match 5-1 at Saudi Sportswashing Machine. Spurs will want to put that to bed this weekend – and also show they can start the season as well as they finished the last.

Since they became a serious team under Mauricio Pochettino, one of Spurs’ biggest problems has been slow starts – they have won just once in seven August league matches in the past two seasons. They will be keen to address that this time around, not least because of their stadium move: the media are primed, waiting to jump to conclusions, and blame it on Wembley. Spurs’ excellent summer in the transfer market – forget who they didn’t buy, just look at how they didn’t sell – gives them a continuity that should be conducive to a fast start.

In an age of instant gratification, when we all need somebody we don’t have to Google, continuity does not have the appeal of novelty – yet it comes with proven benefits. Spurs have no settling-in period for new players, no teething problems to worry about. They can just pick up where they left off in May. If they do, it could be a long afternoon of the soul for Saudi Sportswashing Machine’s defence. Rob Smyth

This was posted in the Saudi Sportswashing Machine thread, an alternative to the sun /sky sports news take on things, I know which type of journalism I have more respect for.

I agree. Hold onto him until we choose to sell and then on our terms. Tell him to keep his diary clear on Wednesday nights and if he plays up, have him train with the development squad. He will have to play ball if he wants to go to the Euros next summer. Given his age and injury record, it could be his last chance.

Absolutely this.

I disagree with people who think that this will affect our build up to the season. Rose is not available to play anyway and I don't think he is training with the first team currently is he?

Yip. I fully expect a business as usual win at Saudi Sportswashing Machine on Sunday.

His apology is pure spin demanded by the club and written by his agents which allows Poch to say "he was wrong, he apologised, our focus is on the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game"
