Danny Rose

He'd get no fudging money off me.
He should be glad I'm not one of his teams mates or his first training session might be s little painful.
I love the insinuation that it's his team mates that aren't good enough to help him win trophies, couldn't possibly have anything to do with him.

I dont mind a player leaving getting more money. But this guy is way out of order IMHO. It will put of some new employers?

He isnt stupid, its an unsanctioned interview just before the season starts where he says just enough to make his position at the club untenable.

Its a calculated game.

What he and his agent seem to have forgotten is that in Mr Levy they are playing chess against a Grand Master.

Levy to Rose "Remember when Leeds had to sell you for £1m because they spent money they didn't have on player wages. I know you want to go back to Leeds but you're not taking Tottenham Hotspur football club with you."

If our overall revenue increases so does our available wage budget - that's just common sense, no?

Yes but so does everyone else's. We are still susceptible to our best performers being tempted by earning more elsewhere.

Loads of the first team signed new contracts last year. Maybe we have already done this.

Yep, they'll all be familiar with the situation, agreed. There's also a big risk though if you leave things to the last week or two.

A no risk option is not available.

You pay a premium to conclude deals early and that means that we would be able to bring in less players and would put extra pressure on our wage structure.

Our current transfer policy has seen us steadily improve and just about out perform every club in the league for transfers over the last decade. I can live with that continuing.

Players will always have their heads turned but that doesn't mean we shouldn't at least try to pay them a better rate for the results they are currently achieving. This bunch have turned us into title challengers

Exactly. Hopefully from a years' time we can get closer to matching Liverpool and Arse - the two clubs we should benchmark ourselves against. in 12 months' the financial risk in our business plan decreases massively as the construction costs is known. We should then be able to get a lot closer to those two

It would take a decade of continued CL participation to get close.

I think we need to put his outburst to one side. Forget it. Maybe next summer he goes, maybe not. Maybe we win the league this season. His agent is clearly not the most experienced or professional, otherwise he'd have told the Sun they get the exclusive but he needs to sign off the article before its published.

Ultimately, its just a youngish footballer talking a little too much. Not a big deal. Bigger things we should focus on - winning the league for example. Maybe Poch, Levy and the team can use this as a means to focus on starting the season hungry and determined. Because untimely that is all Rose is. Yes he is rash. He always has been. But he's aggressively into winning.

I think that the club continues with its current business model that has seen us consistently improve over the last 13 years.

That's fine then

So Walker and Rose leave this summer, Dier and Eriksen next summer, Dele and Alderweireld the one after and so on

Harry will be the last man standing because he is one of our own and loves the club. We hope.

It's the same agent as Kyle Walker and is his uncle apparently. Mark Rankine. Make of that what you will but he got a great deal for his close friend Kyle, at City.

#thfc Rose training as usual today (

) & final decision on what to do with the scamp is Poch's (I imagine Levy will have a view, though).

DO people actually understand the financial implications attached to the double your wages culture? You are talking about taking a 100m a year wage structure and making it upwards to 200m before you have even looked at a transfer fee

What makes me laugh is people think we are the aliens in the market jesus, its Emirates Marketing Project, Chelsea and United who are the freaks in this sideshow not us

Walker leaves this summer. Rose the next. Reinvest the money in improving the squad and building for the future. Like we have been for the last 13 years.

The risk of spending above our means is that we no longer have a club to support.

I'm also not convinced that it is actually desirable that you hold onto all of your players. Teams need refreshing, players need new challenges, young players need to see a route to the first team and we will want to sell players before their form and value drop.

If you are a spurs fan you sell when you see fit not the other way around.

I understand what Danny is saying, just disgusted the way he has gone about it.

Sell him. He is only going to get more injuries as time goes on too

Good point, Danny Rose is 27 years of age and over the last four seasons he has missed 60 prem games ( mostly because of injury). If he thinks we are not good enough for him any more then he should stop mouthing off the press and put in a transfer request.

Maybe so but do you really want to get into habit of selling our best players every season? Toby will be off in a year or two as we cannot get him to sign a new contract, and I can assure you the likes of Dier, Dele and Eriksen will be taking note of what is happening. And as for Kane, well he may love Spurs but he will not stay for ever if believes we cannot win trophies.

Not at all and I am not saying we should. We should sell when we see fit but I doubt that many of our current squad will see out their careers with us and nor should they.
