It's great Kane can play both as out and out and can easily drop back and play a number 10 with right personnel around him .. Benteke offers serious options and is young still .. We would need winger/s who know how to cross though !!

The thing about Benteke is like Kane he is more than just a blunt weapon
If you look at the goals he scored vs Liverpool a seasons ago they're were all about technical ability
yes he is big and strong so crosses and even long balls can play yo some of his strengths but he is also great playing in front of goal
However his transfer fee now I think will be too deep for our pockets

I don't think that episode a couple of years would have too much effect. It shouldn't be too hard for the club could explain to the player that the last time we tried to bring him in it was the manager at the time who put his foot down and insisted on Soldado instead, that manager has gone now. It shouldn't be hard for Pochettino to convince Benteke that he is a player he wants (assuming he does that is?)

My feelings as well, watching Kane last season it was obvious ( to me) that he looks far better coming from deep and taking players on. Benteke could be the leader of the line which will enable Kane more space to do his thing.

That would be realistic - sell them Townsend for 15m, chuck in Ade on a free and subsidise a portion of his wages and then sign Benteke for 25m which is probably a more realistic price for him.

I would be amazed if Poch had us playing with wingers staying wide and getting balls across the box next season. If we signed Benteke, he needs to be able to play with his back to goal and feed the players behind him, feed off balls through the channels, shoot from distance and pick up on rebounds. If he cannot do that, he is not the striker we need.
Yeah. I'd actually forgot that when Kane first burst on the scene for us I was adamant that he was best playing in one of the positions behind the main striker, and he really did remind me of Sherigham, I didn't think he was as effective in that lone striker role. But then I had to back down from that opinion as he has since been quite sensational. If we do sign another top out and out striker then that's great, both for squad depth and for different options in the front four....
Well not wingers, but as with most who play same formation as us it's the full backs who constantly bomb forward and effectively become wingers. Rose could do with improving his end product but is still a threat bombing down the left and could supply the striker, and we all know what Trippier is capable of doing from the other side...

They have a massive problem coming with the amount of brick they have to shift and it's genuine quantity over quality
We will be shifting players of a lower cost to us than them IMO and that makes it easier to to take the hit
They have to sell Ballotelli too

not so sure about that.....if pool can find a half decent club to buy him then he will go....though they will take a massive hit financially....he will want to leave....and i am sure someone out there is foolish enough to think they will be the one to get Balo on the straight and narrow.
Ade seemingly poo-poo's every option presented to him regarding getting his bottom out of the club.....ok I dunno this for a fact....just going off burts piece last night.
At present it feels like getting rid of Ade is mission impossible!!!! he's already guffed on the villa rumours!
to me it looks like Ade is gonna out Levy.....Levy!
oh and thanks to all those opinions as to whether Benteke & Kane would work.....interesting stuff...
