*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United OOMT ***

Lucky first hakf, but finished the better side in the 2nd half, I think we looked fitter than them.

Got to be pleased with a polnt with how things were looking at half-time. A shame we couldn't nick all 3, coz we will likely be brushed aside by Chelsea.

2nd half was acceptable but it's not like we created anything of real note, bar one chance. 1st half was pathetic. Utd are not a great side, woefully unbalanced but we see the red shirts and melt at their feet. Don't know why we had to wait until 15 minutes left to make a change either.

So you don't take into account Chiriches at RB, the VERY inexperienced midfield two and the quality of United? They are not great by any stretch, but are on a very good run of form and have a lot of players I would love to have in our team. We certainly didn't create as much as them but kept strong and had the better of the 2nd. I do hope you had a nice Christmas though.

Stick your head into the armchair you sit on, mate - maybe your bias will be muffled by its padding. And lay off Chiriches

He had an excellent match; handled Young brilliantly and did his bit going forward.

I agree, it's always the same thing with Vlad though, can do 10 good things and it's the one bad thing that gets focused on.

He was so poor.
Give the ball away 3 times in succession at one point from full back.

Chiriches had an excellent match?! :ross: He must've misplaced 70% of his passes, not to mention all the times he kept giving the ball away in the first half. Complete liability, as usual.

A point is OK, in the recent past we would have lost games like that

Resilient, but poor going forward.

And Young should have got a red for tugging off Townsend (innuendo intendo).

Also Rafael was on a yellow when he pulled a player back and when he tripped a player so could/should have been red carded. Dont forget the foul by Rooney on Kane in the penalty box. Clear pen not given. Overall pleased, apart from those decisions, with performance against resurgent United team with Falcao, Rooney and Van Persie on the pitch.

Much better 2nd half where we actually competed with them and could have nicked it if Mason had kept his shot down. Really should have hit the target there. Fazio was a monster in the air, Kane tireless and Lloris brilliant in goal again.

Got to be happy with the point as it keeps our run going i just wish we'd imposed ourselves on the game from the off. Felt we looked nervous 1st half and let them play a bit but hey we didn't lose. Onwards.

He did indeed; unbelievably he never tried a trick, never tried a Cruyff turn on Falcao, never tried a clever back pass, never tried to run through 3 men and into the box, basically just DEFENDED which he is decent at when he cuts out all the bull.

I thought Chiriches did OK -and better after Lamela offered him some passing down the right hand side.
Sure he made some mistakes but then Walker makes mistakes too. What we really need is a combination of Chiriches/Walker.

ref was a mess out there i thought but our boys fought valiantly to the end and were visibly fitter !
finally we see ourselves overperforming against a team assembled at a much higher cost, tells something about Poch's training regime and standards.

anyone know the average age of the team we put out ? must have been the youngest so far? this was perhaps the gamble that Poch took that pretty much paid off, no white knuckle finish for us today !

no he didnt - his positioning was terrible at times, and he showed a complete lack of desire to get back into position when attacking movesw broke down - hence Lloris berating him. But i suppose you didn't spot Man U players queuing at the back post in an area completely full back free?

as for the other thing, there is no two ways about it, he is nothing like as good as he is made out to be on the ball, nothing like. Ben Davies passing is far more crisp and precise, yet this is supposed to be vlad's strength and saving grace.

if you think he handled young brilliantly then you must have missed the first half as young constantly tore into us. he was utd's most influential player!

Actually, there was a drag over nutmeg on someone in the 2nd half

I thought Vlad was fine, best player in the 1st half, average 2nd half. Fazio won lots of headers but there was a couple where he inexplicably laid them on a plate for a Utd attacker instead of heading it down field.

We are clearly a seriously fit side, it can't be coincidence the way we consistently get stronger the longer a game goes on...

This.
I think Poch & his team's training has a lot to do with this
Also, we have had very few injuries this season.
Fitter players are less likely to pick up injuries.
