Everyone was raving about him and were delighted when he was sold to barca.

Better passing than who? Does he replace bentalab or capoue in the first team?

That probably depends on the opposition. I would imagine the three could be swapped in and out without disrupting the team too much.

You can swap Dembele and sandro in depending on the oppo as well.

I don't think song is ****, far from it, I just don't think he's that much of an improvement to what we have ability wise and in terms of options. I like our centre mids, I'd only look to change it up there if there's an outstanding player available, another modric type,

I think that he is better than Dembele and Sandro, I think that the clubs he has played for supports this, but I do not think it is about who is better but who suits Poch's preferred playing style better.

If we're basing it on who he's played for then he's better than all our players! The thing is, he didn't really play for barca though, he was more of a bit part player from what I could see.

Why do you think song would suit the style more? What does song do that Dembele, sandro, capoue and bentalab can't?

If we get him, then I'm happy as it's obviously what poch wants, but for me I don't see the huge upgrade or differing style to what we have based on whenever I've seen him play for club or country.

You can't base how good a player is on the teams they've played for. Just as you can't judge them by the trophies they've won.

Case in point, john o'shea and jack Rodwell.

I think that you are missing the point of my post. I go on to say that whether he is a better player is incidental to him being a better fit for Poch's preferred way of playing.

No not really, I agreed with that bit so I didn't mention it. :p

not the 'he played for Barcelona so he must be better' line of argument again:(

If we're talking about Poch's preferred playing style then it's obvious that Paulinho would be the one that doesn't suit it most.

That would depend on where he is played. He looked pretty good closing down from the front last night, even if that is against modest opposition.

No. It is the 'he played for a couple of the best passing sides in Europe so is probably a better passer than Sandro' line of argument again.

Is sandro that bad at passing? I keep reading this on here, but it's not like he's in the palacios / zokora league of passing, far from it in my opinion. I'm not sure where this has come from.

Are we actually seriously in for him? Seems like this will be one of those many threads where there's some big debate about a player we were never really in for....

I don't think that we will get him because his wage demands will be too high

Is his passing bad? Not especially. Does he make incisive forward passes? Hardly ever.
