Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

every coach is a potential Bill, you can only accurately gauge managers after their career, they all have to start somewhere

Hmmm....fair enough. I guess it's like the Economy and getting into that situation when a youngster can't get a job because he/she hasn't got enough experience, and they can't get that because they can't get a jo

I mean generally, your average football fan (I include myself here) knows next to nothing about football when compared to the professionals

Yep, true. But it's not a good sign when one of those professionals has to play that card. In fact, usually it's a sign that they are struggling, know it and are using the last bastion of defence in the hope that they get some last-minute leeway. When has an MP/PM/President introducing a poorly liked/received policy used the "you guys know noting about our profession" card?? GHod knows they would have more of a place to..

 To be fair I did ask you to describe it and I guess that link on paper suffices. Seeing as you copped out of describing it in the context though, all i'll say is that there is a description in that link that will fit ;)

very serious, I think Sandro has far more ability than Sherwood ever had

I think we can all agree on that; I meant are you serious that Sandro "doesn't effect games like Sherwood did in his prime"?
Assuming you mean effecting the game in a positive way for his side - and assuming you're mainly talking about Sherwood pre-Spurs - can you elaborate please?

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

eh? smashing players self belief to pieces?

I'm sure lloris is crying bucket loads for being labelled a £100m player. How dare Tim say such outrageous things when we all know Lloris is really a £120m player.

Tbf, I suspect he's talking about TS saying that "Spurs have always lost to the big teams, always did" or something like that. I don't think he's talking about the Lloris price quote (see NWND's last post in the thread)

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Yes I was. Definately don't think any manager, least of all ours should be saying such things.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

The whole thing is getting so tiring…6 games left…let's just hope we don't disappear into 11/12th and that we show some pride. I think TS has answered a lot of the questions we were all asking, it's getting boring ****ing him off every 5 seconds, we're all frustrated, etc…roll on the summer...

I still really want us to get 6th, so we get EL for next season. I think that's something worth fighting for. It's also why I want him gone now and not next month, so we can try and salvage one thing from this season.

I agree. I don't understand why people feel the need to come in here and post exactly the same thing every day but it is even worse when they feel the need to spout vitriol in every other thread on the board too.

Because not one good thing has happened since he was installed as manager. It's like a big cloud has sat above the club, ****ing it down on us. There's nothing else to focus on.

The fact that he still hasn't been sacked annoys me. I want him gone and need to vent a bit of frustration at times

I think he might go tomorrow if we lose. He's already been schooled by Hughton and Ramos this season. If Poyet does the same it will surely be too embarrassing for Levy.

I don't understand why so many on here seem to just accept some of the utter rubbish he is saying! It's so obvious that he cannot get his message across to the players, they are not listening and not playing for him. This makes him frustrated and he is lashing out after every embarrassing defeat in anger. Doesn't bode well for him in his career as z manager. I just want him to be managing elsewhere next year and hold no I'll feeling. Just make sure he's not with us next season!

It's funny, he's almost done the impossible and from a 'no lose' situation, he's probably put himself in a place where even his mate the Swindon owner might not touch him with a barge pole.

I don't think managers know a great deal more than most clued up football fans.

Some I'd agree. Many even. But some are proper geniuses - Rinus Michels for example

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Yep macaronic thing to say. Not only last season but under Redknapp we also won our fair share of 'big' games.

Indeed; just another act to deflect from his own record against the top sides (which is woeful in comparison to our last 3 or even 4 managers)

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Ohh, I just saw the news about Hughton

Sherwood > Norwich, Hoddle > Spurs

Double romance, last throws of the dice???

I think that you are making yourself look a little silly with your desperation. Sherwood is going to be here for the rest of the season and will be replaced in the summer. You are going to get your wish, so do you really have to bang on about it constantly?

Just had a look at Redknapp's record with us against the 'big 5'

Chelski = won 2, drew 3, lost 3
Liverpool = won 6 , drew 1, lost 2
Emirates Marketing Project = won 4, drew 1, lost 3
Man United = won 0, drew 2, lost 9 (dear GHod)
Gooner scum = Won 3, drew 3, lost 3
Everton = won 3 , drew 3, lost 3

Pretty damn good record minus United which is shocking (this is every game and not just league so you can take away a loss to United and a loss to Chelski to get the league record). Sherwood is talking out his ****.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Someone needs to tell Tim that football has moved on since Spurs were regularly capitulating to the top 4/5 teams in the league :)

yeah I was thinking his Blackburn days, specifically the title season, I'm not sure I'm smart enough to explain it but he was the energy of that side, integral in both directions, bit of a hacker sure but always involved, determined little ****er he was, not as good as Keane at the time but probably the next best thing, Dalgleish was always effusive in his praise

Impressive that from Harry

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Can we run a book on the next crackpot thing Timmeh is going to say?

3- Compare himself with Bill Nich
5- Call the fans idiots
1- Talk about how the club could do with a 'character' players like Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole
4- Say Levy would be racist if he replaced him with a Dutchman
2- Announce that Sandro could to learn a thing or two about being a CM if he watched some videos of him from the 90s

in that order.
1-2 after a loss
3 after a win
4 when he senses his time is up
5 is his bitter exit :)

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

definitive interview with quotes; i really don't get the man the more reveals himself to me.

Players know the script - Sherwood

06 April 2014
[h=2]Tim Sherwood will return to the Tottenham dugout when Sunderland visit on Monday - a decision the head coach insists is nothing to do with the fans' irritation at him watching recent matches from the stands.[/h]

"I'll be on the touchline on Monday - I'll be knocking out as many people as I can," Sherwood said with a smile.

"I've had a lot of time to prepare this week. If they don't know what it's all about this week, then they ain't going to know.

"When you're playing against Liverpool and teams like that, I feel there was a technical mismatch between the two teams.

"We have to try to worry about them and they might need some adjusting during the game - they certainly did after 20 minutes. "There was nothing we could do to turn it around, unfortunately.

"I can learn more about my players sitting up top for the future than going down there to the touchline.

"I would've had to have no effect on that game. Against teams we've got left to play, the players know the script now.

"We will play the same way between now and the end of the season and it's up to them to try to entertain.

"I'll be there at the forefront with them and hopefully we can get a positive result together."

"We've got to play with the shackles off. We are not coming up against a technical mismatch now, against teams in the top four.

at this point, i do not want us in Europe next season. with the quality of the players in our squad and if we can get LVG in next season, without the distraction of thursday night footy which will give LVG more time to mold a proper team ethic, i genuinely believe we can attain a CL spot the following year.
