The Goon Thread

Yep. Googly-eyed cvnt performing against Palace definitely shows that he can perform in the big matches.

Do you mean that this was a big match because it was a South London derby or are you just even more departed than your average fat ginger goon?
What are you going on about. Just said he's not a big game player.

Severely overrated.

Emmanuel Frimpong has suggested that the reason he isn't in Arsenal's squad to play Chelsea in the Capital One Cup is because of his race.

When asked on Twitter why he hadn't been picked for Tuesday's match, Frimpong replied: 'Lol I wanna laugh.

'Sometimes I wish I was white and English #realtalk.'

Nicklas Bendtner said:
I'll help fire Arsenal to silverware this season

He didn't actually say that (it's from the Daily Mail, big surprise), but his self belief is just ridiculous.

Said it for years (not just because he plays for Woolwich now), Ozil is not a big game player. He regularly goes missing for Germany in the latter stages of tournaments and did the same for Real Madrid. Henry mk II
yeah not yet at least. but he's still young and can work on it. if anything it will be wenger to eke it out of him, not that madcapped mourinho!

It's getting ridiculous now. First Ramsey now mertesacker. Another guy we used to mock has turned top class

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is suffering from fatigue, according to his team-mate Laurent Koscielny.

The French striker has played 21 games in 89 days and has played a key role in firing the Gunners to the top of the Premier League.

But he has not scored in his last four games and Koscielny believes the strain of leading the line on his own is starting to show.

'It's true that he's not scoring but he is setting them up, like he did against Dortmund,' he told The Sun. 'But he's also playing game after game and hasn't had a rest, so maybe he's feeling a bit of fatigue.

'He's very important for us - strong and always answers the call on the pitch. If you look at the games, he weighs enormously on the opposition's defence. All the balls he wins are in the air with his back to goal. He works very hard up front.'

Arsenal's lack of firepower was laid bare on Sunday when they lost 1-0 to champions Manchester United at Old Trafford when the much-maligned Nicklas Bendtner was unable to make an impression from the bench.

Yaya Sanogo, meanwhile, has not played since the end of August after suffering a back injury while with the France Under 21 squad.

The club failed with attempts to land Luis Suarez, Gonzalo Higuain, Wayne Rooney, Karim Benzema and Demba Ba over the summer.

But boss Arsene Wenger could revive his interest in Real Madrid striker Benzema who has 18 months left on his contract at the Bernabeu.

He has fallen behind Giroud in the pecking order for his national side but has scored eight goals for Madrid this season.

The asking price is thought to be £27.5m and his representatives have been sounding out the possible alternatives, well aware that Arsenal’s interest lingers on from the summer. He would demand a salary of £150,000 a week.

Benzema’s agent Karim Dzajiri has met twice with Galatasaray, who were represented by Muzzi Ozcan, the same London-based agent who brokered their swoop to recruit Roberto Mancini.

They met once in Paris and once in Madrid, and revealed that Real wanted €33m for the 25-year-old striker.

This fee is out of reach for the Turkish champions but not for Arsenal, who would like to sign another centre forward in January.

That's all we bloody need. In saying that unless Madrid bring in another star striker the January transfer would seem unlikely.
