Hugo Lloris

I hope tonight finally offers some conclusive proof what a ridiculously poor managerial decision it was to rest our best keeper (and one of our most consistent performers) in favour of some flimflam sentiment.

If you want to win this competition, Andre - play your best 11

gonad*s. Friedel served this club outstandingly for two seasons and was in decent form when Lloris arrived. Yes he had to give way sooner or later, but he too needs game time to keep him up to scratch should Lloris get injured.

Commendable decision by AVB.

I would have liked to have seen Lloris play tonight but primarily got sentimental reasons in him turning out against his former team.

I can understand why Friedel was chosen, he's a perfectly good number 2 keeper. I think he was chosen to keep his morale and fitness up, so that he's happy to stay as the number 2 and fit to play should he be called upon in the league if Lloris suffers a knock.

I agree.

I think these two games will help Friedel if we need to call on him later in the season.

He made one mistake, but Lloris has also made mistakes with the ball at his feet this season so it's not like we would have been guaranteed an error free two games if Hugo had started.

That being sad, I'm looking forward to Lloris starting again against West Ham, he's the superior goalkeeper and he fills me with a bit more confidence and I do think he helps our buildup play by being better with the ball at his feet.

am starting to come round to this world class thing........not quite sure yet, but i havent actually seen a BAD game from him...and all i have seen is him showing keepers around this league how to police a final third. not just hiw own box...but the final third...several time this season i've seen him snuff out what would be clear cut chancesfor the opposition. tihng si that if the oppo got to the ball and scored then yuo just have to hold your hands up and give them credit.....but no, lloris is having none of it

i think the world is lacking in real world class keepers as far as true quality goes but lloris is about as good as any keeper in this league on his current form

He is EASILY the best goalkeeper in the premier league. He gobbled up everything west ham threw at him, and that save to deny taylor....outstanding

He had the big mistake in the Europa league but has had few in the league. He is definately up there with the top keepers in this league, and probably europe going by his current form.

Outstanding again today, although the Joe Cole goal was a bit odd - Lloris was falling back and flicked a leg at it - perhaps because Vertonghen deflected it, but if that is the case Lloris had already dived after 0.0002 seconds which are some damn fast reflexes!

Best spurs keeper in my lifetime

Others would have crumbled today wit the amount of corners pumped in the 6 yard box

And he seems faster than anyone in our team coming from his area which is so important to the current game we play

I live boring keepers and he fits the bill. Nothing flash and everything ultra efficient

Another point is how Bale will get the plaudits for the winner but Loris is there quietly in the background making defining moments in our season in just the same way but without the glory.

99 times out of 100 he saves that, the ball bounced over his leg, can't blame him for that in my view.
