Walker 6 Positive signs going forward, sharper than earlier this season

Caulker 6 We dont really see him, and its probably a good sign for a defender

Friedel 6 - doubt even Lloris would have got to that cross for their goal tbh
Walker 8 - had a hand in two goals (intelligent through ball to
Dempsey for Ade's goal) and looked on fire second half. Also a couple of timely clearances. Can still go missing though.

Verthonghen 7 - better from him than in recent games
Naughton 4 - totally lost it second half but had his moments early doors
Lennon 6 - excellent assist but needs to get past his man more often
Carroll 7 - mighty impressive first half, looks like he'll soon be running the game, predictably faded before being subbed

Interesting discussion between Sir Les and Strachan about their goal. Les blamed Naughton and the ginger one blamed Caulker and especially Verts for not holding the line. Neither said it was Brad's fault.
The OMT thread starter suggested Naughton RB and the other Kyle on the left. It would have been interesting.
We wobbled after the equaliser but all in all every player done good IMO but too many misplaced passes.

Walker 7 signs that he might be coming out of his sticky spell though the oposition has to be taken into account.

Naughton 3 If he plays i think it should be on the right he does not look comfortable on the left and he needs to go on loan again in the prem for more experince.

Carroll 8.5 Love the little fella and he is now streets ahead of huddlestone already, and i was a hudd fan. Some brilliant through balls and also did the smiple things. If only he was at arsenal or chelsea he would be the new saviour of english football.

Friedel 6 Decent performance, no mistakes, couldn't do anything about the goal really.
Walker 7 Decent going forward, seems to like those mazy runs with the ball but needs to learn when to and when not to, they leave him out of position a lot.
Caulker 7 - Decent performance from the young CB.
Vertonghen 7.5 - He's just so damn technically talented. He makes the tackles but he doesn't hoof it, he does it and comes away with the ball at his feet and the striker bewildered as to what the fudge just happened.
Naughton 6 - Lacking positionally at LB, can't be too harsh on the lad though as it's not his natural position.
Lennon 7 - Mia first half, but a very impressive second, very good run and through ball to Defoe
Sandro 6.5 - Defensively sound but the passing was lacking at times, put us under pressure once or twice.
Carroll 6.5 - Could develop into a talent but doesn't quite have the decision making to back it up yet. Great passing range, but some of them suicidal to members of the back four.
Dempsey 8 - Was a very impressive performance from Dempsey, gets the assist in a nice bit of play dropping perfectly between the midfield and the defence and deserved a goal for his headed effort.
Defoe 6.5 - Well taken goal. That's about all you can say about him tonight

I think that's how the two Kyles played when they were still with Sheff United, though I can understand why AVB did so, it's Pana, not another premier league team. Not to forget that we also have Demps as LW, so, why not have a more stay-at-the-back type Naughton as our LB for the night.
Friedel 6.5 - Not really his fault for the goal, and not his fault either he didn't have to make more saves and thus earning a higher rating (extra 0.5 given for acting as a confidence booster for our make-shift defence)
Walker 7 - A few telling passes/crosses. Will need him to be on alert against Everton/Leighton Baines.
Vetonghen 6.5 - Extra 0.5 for an important header at a crucial time.
Caulker 6 - No fanfare or key moments came to mind immediately, but not his fault the opponents only had a 20min good spell.
Naughton 5.5 -I believe he tried his best as a LB, but to be fair to Caulker, 0.5 lower for him.

Dempsey 7.5 - One of his better performances, the only downside is that he tends to cut infield a lot and we failed to utilise the left flank more effectively. Small complaint really.
Adebayor 6.5 - Did well to stay on side and calmly gave us the lead.
Defoe 7.25 - Nice game as a "striker", could have two or three goals. I only have a simple expectation on him, get in there and hurt the opponents.
Dembele 6.5 - Our lucky charm (don't mind giving him 0.5 extra for every game he "won" for us)? Offered something different to Carroll, and we took charge of the last 20min. But this might be the effect of two quick goals after he came on, both of which he didn't really have a lot of involvement.
Sigurdsson N/A - Came on so as to give Demps a chance for a standing ovation?
