***TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Leeds OMT***

Weird marking mate

- VDV was poor, even RDZ mentioned it
- Gray was poor, missed an open opportunity, loss concentration quite a bit
- Kulu was the worse of the subs, LWB created an opp to get the draw, Bentancur was ok (not a 3)

Your entitled to your opinion mate.

It was just a bad day at the office unfortunately for a couple of reasons:

1) Outside of the top 3 or so teams, everyone is capable of beating everyone and you aren't going to find many outside of the genuine contenders winning 4 on the bounce. We'd won 3 and drawn 1 of last 4, we aren't that good that we are just going to carry on going on a run so was due a disappointment and Leeds away certainly makes such an event a possibility

2) We've built a very good squad, but we are yet to address the striker situation. Don't blame the board for that, a quality CF is hard to find and it's even harder to attract them to our club when we have finished 17th two seasons running so if we have to wait a season to get a good one then so be it. We are building the foundations, of which there is a lot of positives but until we address the striker situation we aren't going to be challenging the top tier.

We are going to suffer a few more days like this whilst we attempt to build ourselves towards where we were a few years back and suffer some inconsistencies. But from what I've seen so far this season we will be fine and finish in the top half, where exactly in the top half I've no idea and could depend on what we do in January and/or how some of our players returning from injury fare.....

TBF We had no plan today to get a ball to a CF
Was a strange line up that, I’ll be honest, I thought could work
But I was wrong

These kind of games can and will happen
NO team can have more than 1 player off it in this league and we had many
Then add in the structure that wasn’t working for the first 20 mins and it looked bad
We got back into it as you would hope and expect IMO but the Tel challenge took more out of us than I think any fan would have predicted
Second half was so one way it was scary
But we have seen it before
We will see it again this season too

Just seen the challenge on Telby Bogle - how is that not a red card? Fudge it was awful, albeit bogle appeared to slip just beforehand. It was the very definition of dangerous and has resulted in Tel having to go off! Seriously I’m not understanding what is considered endangering your opponent these days.

The actual explanation when They admit they got it wrong will be interesting
I think it’s completely indefensible as a decision
I’ve seen people say he didn’t mean it… but that doesn’t matter

Think the argument given was he was looking at the ball and the foot that made contact wasn't the one he was trying to tackle with. He just stepped on him.

I thought it should be red.

brick, didn't realise this was the graveyard slot kick-off

Did Fernandes being sacrificed out of the double pivot screw us again?
Yes I believe it was that.
Keep the side the same, has worked for us. If we needed someone in for Maddison/10 stick Marmoush or Gallagher there.

Joke of an argument. I originally thought he was going in on his right knee, watching the replay he was going for both right knee and left ankle. How he escaped without even a yellow...

Another thing, International break coming up. We always seem to lose before this...

This is the other issue for me, not the superstitious bit, but in general, why on earth is there ANOTHER international break??

We have just had a World Cup, we had a three week break last month and now after a few fixtures we have another one, just fire most of these international breaks into the sun - they aren’t needed, it’s just more over working of players which can result in injury. How is anyone meant to build consistency when at this time of year players are headed off to play flimflam internationals.

We sold a unit who can actually fight for the ball
And we have one without a squad place
Haha please. The ball would just bounce off Richy, he is literally the worst player in the squad for hold up play. So sure he would fight but so what, he can't fudging control the ball. 🤣

He would fight
Yes he is cumbersome
But he would fight
And Lankshear has been doing all season for Boro what we need today … keep the ball and lay it off for the pass

I make no comment on Lankshear because I don't know how he would translate to the PL so he's a fair argument but Richy fudge no. You're absolutely lying to yourself if you think Richy makes any difference to the hold up play this squad is capable of.

Richy has huge weaknesses reduce is why we want him gone
But he fights
Agree you cannot compare Lankshear because it’s impossible to correlate but I’ve watched him loads and that includes youth football, Oxford and Boro
I’m sat here thinking who do we get because a blind man can see we need someone
You have best in class like Osihmen which is a pipe dream
Then you have a player like Krupi who I really like but the prem tax is massive and he isn’t a hold up player

I think the lack of an AM is an even bigger issue than the lack of a striker. With no real striker we lack incision in the box and lack a player who has a natural nose for picking up the ball in the box or a player who can anticipate where things might fall.

But the lack of an AM today just like many games this season without Maddison we have no real way to link the possession of midfield with the admittedly poor forwards that we played. There was no movement between the lines, no dropping in, no drives from midfield, no passes inside the channels. No through balls, no beat link play. It was all very sideways even in the limited times we got beat their box. Gray was honestly awful in this role, completely and utterly inconsequential today and I'm shocked he wasn't taken off at half time for Gallagher, a player I don't even particularly rate but someone who at worst suits the role faaaar more than Gray ever could. I do appreciate that we have injuries in that area but the choices he had for the AM today were Gallagher, Kulu or even LWB. Gray was never an option but it's the one he went with. A very, very strange choice. There's nothing about Gray's game that suits playing as an AM at all. He doesn't have the passing range, the creativity, the vision etc.

At times like these I sometimes think it's good to lose the odd game here or there and even put in some poor performances because otherwise our fan base loses all perspective because some just don't seem to understand what work in progress means and what is actually sustainable from this team as it stands. We have been well, very well recently but why are we pretending that the attack really works and that we creating lost of great chances, that's still an issue. The amount of fans I saw saying we will win every game up until Arsenal and some even saying we'll win that one too. 🤭
