Could be the Frankball syndrome. His football looked great, until the players decided they couldn't be bothered anymore. Actually, so did Angeball.

But the main problem as I see it and has been for some time, is a lack of any obvious plan. It seems so purposeless and ineffective, even if it's sometimes pretty to look at, and even leads to a goal from time to time. It's often like watching a testimonial.
 
By bringing Fernandes back to 6 it releases Tonali further forward which is what he is best at, Tonali next to Bentancur is a total waste because he is being asked to play as the creative 6 when his strength is box to box running, Fernandes back there does the job of both Tonali and Bentancur to release Tonali,
