Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

You can understand why so many other fans don't like us, a lot of our fans don't show other teams any respect and brag we can beat anyone easily. If we do go down every team will be out to beat us.
The point is a mainstay prem team should demolish championship sides, same reason those promoted usually end up bottom. Doesn’t mean that’s what will happen, a lot depends on sales etc but it should.

Truthfully, I think the only way the team can manage this situation is one game, then one game, ignore everything else and just focus on winning our game. That will take all the energy. Of course, that looks so easy as I type it out hahahaha...
Exactly this Steff. We should only worry about what we can control in the short term. We can’t beat Leeds, Chelsea or Everton on Sunday night. We can’t only beat Villa so let’s do that.

Similarly, we cannot control what West Ham or Forest do so we shouldn’t wet our knickers when they get a result. If we do our job in each of the next 4 games, we either stay up or very unluckily go down.

It’s about staying present and focusing what we can do and trusting it will be enough if we do it well.

Laying the ground work for disappointment in a division we are not even in yet :)

I can only imagine what De Zerbi would do with you!

It’s what 46 years of supporting this team can do to you. 😀

Reality is, every team will be all out against us every week should we end up down there. I’d expect us to come straight back up, but I can imagine it’ll be far from a walk in the park.

Well i must admit i have liked what he has said in interviews so far, early days of course but his attitude would lift me as a player and if it can do that to them we may see it through.

As i said its early days of course but he should inspire some players the way he is talking.
I always think, if I'm listening to a manager and thinking he knows what he's talking about, or this bloke hasn't a clue, that will be the players mindset too.

Watching and listening to RDZ makes me dislike TF even more.
It shouldn't make you dislike Frank at all - every manager has their own personality and style and Frank is a good coach with his own merits.

It should make you question the decision makers who thought it was a good idea to bring him here in the first place. Was never going to be a good match for the players we have or our club, but that's not Frank's fault - of course he was going to back himself to succeed here....

I think this is absolutely right and the common sense approach.
However I have to admit that hearing a manager repeatedly talking UP the club and players versus one waffling on about effing tankers and not being a real CL club is both great AND has me sometimes harrumphing at the previous manager (I don' count Tudor).

I can still dislike him, whether it was his fault or not that he got the job. He put his name forward for the position knowing what it entailed, never had the players’ backs, was aloof with the fans and put an awful product out on the field for us to watch. I very much dislike JL too.

The hiring of RDZ has really shone a sharp focus on how bad that appointment was. That’s all.

Yup, every club in the Championship would treat their matches against us like it’s a cup final and raise their game like the Spammers!! Thankfully not something we’re going to have to concern ourselves with though…🤞

We might have him at the best time, he’s perhaps a more mature version but with the same ideas and wants for his style of play without (hopefully) as much of the hot headed bridge burning tendencies. We certainly wouldn’t have had as much dire footy to watch in the interim!
I feel the hot headed bridge burning threats are what the club needs to challenge the nitwits who are running the club

This, he is clearly a decent manager, people can pretend, in hindsight that his work at Brentford wasn't impressive when their fans will universally tell different.

Good manager, wrong place here. I don't hate the bloke, I don't hate Tudor either, his 45% career win rate was ruined by us, we are in many cases the common theme here, not the managers

I really hope RDZ keeps up what looks to be a promising start.........

Not to mention he was clearly a nice genuine guy who was working hard to be successful here and grateful for the opportunity - disliking the guy seems a bit much to me, but each to their own I guess....

Yeah, I find the “look how well Brentford are doing now without him” to be very disrespectful. He did an incredible job there to get them up and keep them in the league. Andrews, so far, has been impressive but he has been able to build on the platform that Frank played a huge part in putting in place.

The job here was too big for him IMO. A really poor appointment which calls in to question, very seriously, the judgement of those who appointed him and retained him especially given the “30 point list” or whatever it was that they based the appointment on.

As Poch said this week, in football there are some things that data and stats cannot measure or quantify and that’s what keeps some of the beauty and mystery around the game. Our decision makers clearly didn’t think that was relevant or factor it into their decision making.
