Sadly true. You can't underestimate the impact of the absence of Kulu, Solanke and Maddison. Our three best attackers last year. That and our GHod awful, pub league level of passing.

I thought Muani/Tel (sorry couldn't see clearly who it was) made a nothing run despite being fresh. I was screaming at him to show where he wanted the ball. Tired cross from Richy though.

Positive is that it’s 4 points from 6 and two clean sheets. Defensively, we were very good. Thought the keeper and 4 defenders were very good. Romero gets stick but he did defend very well several times.
Bentancur was the best player on the park for me.
Just don’t see this style working out for us. Can’t see any real attacking threat outside of individual moments of brilliance and even if we get everyone back, you can’t rely on that. Watching Porro launch 50 yard hit and hopes is soul destroying given how good he is on the ball.
Frank still deserves the season but I don’t see this being successful even if everyone comes back. It’s too risk averse.

Seeing us create some decent openings. Obviously we're underpowered in attack. But our setup was just right, keeping them out and creating openings, but we need more quality in attack. Who'd have thought when missing Kulu, Maddison and Solanke?

I defended the Palace performance as I genuinely thought it was good for what Frank wants. This was dreadful. We didn’t raise our game at all. The players were way off it in terms of passing and overall quality. We gave up a massive chance they should have scored from in Lewis-Potter’s effort from the cutback.
The only mitigating thing for Frank would be that Andrews knows him so well and so knows exactly how to set up a team to prevent them conceding the kinds of goals that Frank likes to score. So maybe they were always due to cancel each other out.
That was rubbish though. Really disappointing.
