Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Maybe
But I haven’t seen any team we have played since change their style for us
Actually… I’m wrong. Wolves did and they were better than us
Man Utd did. They switched Mbuemo's position as they thought he'd be up against Spence if they left him in his usual side.
I think Chelsea pressed higher than normal vs us too

Did they?
I’ve seen him play that side plenty this season with Diallo right when they haven’t started sesko

Chelsea press every game mate
It’s their only way of playing hence why their fans think he is a weak manager

Yes United changed Mbuemo's position. It was widely remarked by pundits etc. He is almost always on the right with Diallo. Amorim knew Spence would more likely have locked him down compared to Porro.

Chelsea pressed higher than normal imo, i think they knew our weaknesses with playing through the press. In fact, i say since that defeat vs Bournemouth more teams have pressed us higher...Chelsea took it to the next level

Maybe I am not being clear. I am not talking about tactical intent, I am talking the overall intent of how this club goes about playing football matches. Where is our way? Where is the style I associate with this club?

I guess I would have to ask that same question about all of the top clubs in England. Where is the Emirates Marketing Project style that won the league 5-7 years ago? Where is Arteta's stylish football of 3-5 years ago?

I think we might be doubly suffering as Spurs fans because our own philosophy has changed in line with the entire league and we have a manager who is not known for massively entertaining football. It's clearly so over-rotated at this point. Then you have the triple effect of us being in a period where referees just aren't using the laws of the game so managers and players have assimilated to the environment set by the officiating.

There are some real RIP Football moments going on in this current period. The most entertaining match I've watched recently was Eng vs Kiwis at Twickers last weekend. Way more entertaining than any football match I've watched in a fair while.

Yet we have picked up wins and scored plenty of goals this season also? Its not as drastic as people are making out
Do you really believe the amount of goals we've scored this season is a true reflection on the way we've played? We didn't deserve the goal we scored yesterday and there's plenty of other games that we've won but barely created a chance. We've got lucky but it's not sustainable over a season.

I didn’t watch the Chelsea game until late second half
I have deffo seen Mbuemo play left this season
They still played 3-4-3. They didnt think brick…. Tottenham may actually tickle us let’s play 8 defenders

I think we have scored goals, I am not saying anything other than that? Equally it can't just be passed off as nothing.

That was a great rugby game
2 well drilled teams playing a game with flair and of course some key decisions form the fly half
But we wouldn’t play with a fly half and instead would put a second row there

The stats say we should be 12th currently
That feels like exactly where we should be to me on the basis of out football
But the worrying trend ja the stats are declining
The bottom teams are creating more than us

I care where we are come the end of the season TBH and when we have better players back and more investment which is needed in Jan.

Things rarely get fixed in jan
And I want to see the man in charge do better with what he has
That’s his job
That’s what I believe he excelled at previously
I’m not seeing that at all
Hence why the numbers are getting worse and players don’t all seem to be on board

I am not saying its fixed in Jan but you are being massively disingenuous if you believe losing Son, Solanke, Deki and Madders is not having an impact given their replacements. At least I see a manager trying to eek things out of what he has, not to the style I like personally but I am not silly to think what he has is much better than where we are currently. We are par for our resources currently, if people think otherwise then I think you are vastly overrating the squad

Ok, keep your head stuck in the sand.

Its not stuck anywhere, I just don't believe a stupid rhetoric that we have only scored goals by "luck"

I am also not stuck in the sand knowing this clubs recent history of hire and fire and being stuck in a circle for nearly 30 years.

So yeah, as I say, lets sack the manager to please peoples itch in November, but I am saying this now, WHOEVER comes in needs fcuking time to turn this club anywhere near to the level that everyone seems to be comparing us to.

If you think we get to Arsenal levels or Liverpool of the past 8 years hiring and firing our way there, then its not me with their head in the sand hombre

Mate
I believe he is trying to eek things out
But he is failing on that front, massively

But he is choosing to not play attacking or creative players. That’s a clear choice of his for whatever reason
This is not about said it’s about intent
To have teams with inferior squads show more attacking intent days so much about what the manager wants

I showed the team that played at city and won. It would likely have lost yesterday but it also may have had some shots and passes the ball forwards

There are newly promoted teams attacking with more intent than us which is Sunderland for example are higher in the league. I can’t name any of their team TBH but I know they don’t fear sides as seen when they played Arsenal and had a go. They also had a go at chelsea and there are a lot of new players there who are unfamiliar with the manager

It’s key to see the guy in change maximise what he has and if that results in a loss then hey, that happens

His post match comments IMO were not that of a manager who understands the expectations of a supposed top club

Hiring and firing isn’t the answer
But hiring a manager who is right is
I wanted Frank and I want him to get the year
But I also want him to him to understand that he has to actually create an attacking plan and way of playing that isn’t rudimentary. Earn his money and his coaches. I mean he has super highly rated coaches there but we look like a team that has had zero coaching on anything other than set pieces and holding a defensive line
Blips happen in seasons
New managers need time
But the revert to mean happens too
You tend to get what you deserve

I don't quite see the Sonny thing as a comparative to last season. His super powers had waned that much and most of the season he was highly ineffective. The other 3 spot on though. Getting Dom and Deki back will be like 2 new signings. Nothing we can do about Madds. We may never see that same player again. Hope we do as he's one of the good guys.

It's the ramp up of Deki that concerns me the most. He won't be slotting into a well oiled machine. He'll be expected to single handedly fix it and that will be unfair.

Or understands the task at a club that constantly overstates its status without often ever hitting that level.........
